Hundreds of thousands of servicemen were exposed to asbestos over decades, especially during the period from 1940 to 1980. Asbestos was used in construction of naval vessels as well as shore facilities. All branches of the military used asbestos, which was also widely used in civilian applications. Asbestos can cause mesothelioma. Because this cancer has a particularly long latency period, many servicemen who were exposed years ago are now developing this disease.
- Mesothelioma Patient & Family Resources: Mesotheliomahelp is provided by Belluck & Fox, LLP as a comprehensive resource for mesothelioma victims and their families. The site provides up-to-date information on the latest news and treatment options as well as an easy to use search feature to find local mesothelioma doctors and health care clinics.
We fight for veterans harmed by asbestos: Veterans with mesothelioma or asbestos-related lung cancer should know they have options: the opportunity to bring a suit against manufacturers and sellers of the asbestos that caused their illness. If you were harmed by asbestos exposure, for example, in ships or military housing, contact Weitz & Luxenberg to get a free case review.
Important Information for Veterans: Asbestos products were often used on military ships and within military housing, and Veterans may have been exposed. Previous exposure to asbestos is the only known cause of mesothelioma, a fatal cancer that has no cure and affects countless Veterans and loved ones. HELLO
Special Report: GOODBYE SARAH PALIN, WE WILL MISS YOU SO MUCH.
Posted on July 03, 2009 by gordonduff
YOU BETCHA!!!!!!!
Here at Veterans Today News Network, we just don't know what to say. Senator Ted Stevens escaped prosecution and Governor Mark Sanford is still holding on.
What could Governor Palin have done that is one tenth as bad as a hundred things New Ginrich has done?
We will miss her honest incompetence and belligerence. There are tens of thousands of elected officials in the US less well liked, less funny and less attractive.
So what if she is a crook? What is a crook anyway?
Who isn't?
Forcing her to leave office and leaving Mark Sanford in is an offense to sensibility.
We will wait the rumors, then the accusations and then the plea bargain deal that usually follows.
Sarah will make millions on the lecture/KKK cross burning circuit.
I wish her well.
g
more: the unconfirmed stories took 2 hours. Now it is being said that she had her home built when the Wasilla Sports Complex (check my spelling) was done. Our "new story" says that Federal Investigators may..may be looking into the possibility that her home was built out of the funds for that complex.
All we can do is follow this, see who ordered the investigation and where it goes.
Sometimes that, in itself, is more than the story.
Ever ask yourself why Governor Sanford keeps admitting openly to having sex or "inappropriate behavior" with other women, humiliating his family.
Is it because the truth his admissions are covering up are, to him anyway, worse?
more of more;
Now the lead on this is being handled by Karl Rove. If you picked one person on earth that would make me vote for Sarah Palin if they were running against her, it is Karl Rove.
Something worth looking at. Sometimes I see myself as a "fisher of men" or, more appropriately, something a bit less.
I think I have caught a few. Were they really fish, I would simply throw them back. A few hours on a dock in the hot sun might do them well.
a thought.........
and so it goes..................

All I want to know is will you apologize if there isn't anything there? You are so quick to jump on the bandwagon of hate when a Conservative does something contraversial. I have not come to her defense because I don't have any facts. Whent the facts come out, I'll form my opinion at that time.
Have you ever thought about using that logic before. Then, you won't be wrong as often and have to apologize. Oh yeah, I forgot, if there is no scandal, then it's a conspiracy to cover it up.
Duff, your pure entertainment value to me. Do you realize that? You embarras even my Liberal friends!
I am waiting for Sarah to yell out to her audience in Findlay, "assassination is wrong, I am not here to encourage you to murder black people or kill President Obama."
We may wait a long time for this one.
The point, of course, is that there are many much worse than Sarah. I just happen to think that "secessionism" and "white supremism" which are her core beliefs are morally wrong.
You don't have a name or a bio. When you get one, we will pay more attention to you. Right now, you are a petulent child.

Perhaps you would be best to run those concerns past the GM? After all many are called, few are chosen as the Bible says?
When you are ready to ver ride the GM's decision do get back to me will you? Till then? There remains no veterans content here.
You may consider moderating your abusive remarks. They are not funny, they are not amusing and they really provide no editorial benefit to the readership at large, and do not represent VT very well at all.
By Tom on 2009-07-04 12:37:52 I made a mistake. I thought this was a Veteran's site, not a left wing moonbat site. I'm signing off now.
By ViperAsh50 on 2009-07-04 17:56:31 I am new to Veterans Today...but I am certainly not new to the online veterans community (Google ViperAsh50) I find some of the remarks here to be offensive and viscious gossip.
I realize Gov Palin is hated by the left wingnuts but this is ridicules. For the information of some. Gov Palin's son is in the Military and she is very pro Military and Veteran. She has visited the troops on numerous occasions including Kosovo, Kuwait, and Iraq.
I have to agree with the statement "There is no veterans content here" when it comes to this article.

Stew,
You are not part of Veterans Today News Network
These are not the code of ethics chosen by the editorial staff.
You are a spoiled right wing brat working against veterans.
You were offered the chance to:
1. Offer your actual name
2. Verify your military service
3. Write
Currently you have no known background, no name and only right wing political beliefs.
We call people like that trolls.
They aren't editors.
We support America's veterans, not torture, not corruption and not despotism.
"Down with all tyrants"
....or something like that.
hey..i like that..wish i had said that.

By Ahem? on 2009-07-05 14:00:32 Title: Palin threatens to sue HuffPo, MSNBC, NYTimes, etc.
“To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as “fact” that Governor Palin resigned because she is “under federal investigation” for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation. This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law.”
By Ahh-so on 2009-07-05 14:22:25 FBI: Claims of Palin investigation ‘just not true’
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is not under investigationby the FBI, the federal agency’s Alaska spokesperson has said.
“There is absolutely no truth to those rumors that we’re investigating her or getting ready to indict her,” Special Agent Eric Gonzalez told the Los Angeles Times Saturday. “It’s just not true.”
On Saturday, Palin’s lawyers came out fighting against allegations that her resignation was prompted by a brewing scandal. On Friday, bloggers including Shannyn Moore and Brad Friedman suggested that Palin is under federal investigation over her activities in the development of the Wasilla Sports Complex, a multi-million dollar facility in Palin’s home town built while she was mayor of the town.
“To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as ‘fact’ that Governor Palin resigned because she is ‘under federal investigation’ for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation,” Palin attorney Thomas Van Flein said in a statement.

If she felt that she can no longer do the job for personal reasons, then I applaud her for resigning because that would be the responible thing to do when one is no longer able to lead.
However, if she has abdecated her responsibility to the job she accepted on behalf of the people of Alaska in favor of making another attempt at taking the national stage as an elected official then, then shame on her and shame on anyone who would even think of voting for "Governor Quitter" (Wink, Wink!)
Aren't these things that should be discussed by private email or telephone? I don't understand some of the writers or the assistant editor here. Shouldn't you be settling your differences in some kind of private meeting instead of putting it out here for all to see?
By Response To Terry on 2009-07-05 13:58:40 couldnt agree with you more. not my doings.
By Terry on 2009-07-04 04:00:42
I wonder how many votes McCain lost in the election because of her. I never thought McCain was really fit to be president. If he had died in office, I'm not sure the US would be in very good shape under Sarah Palin. To me she just comes across as a parrot stuck on the same old few things. I'm still not sure Obama is such a good thing for the country, but he was really the only choice.
Thus far, we can't communicate with either Obama or Shensiki, even thru senior members of Congress.
Much of that problem relates to veterans groups being cast in the "GOP/Nutcase" group....to be closeted and ignored.
Those of us who are not total idiots knew how bad mccain had been from our work as POW advocates. Hell, we actually have the head of the POW recovery teams in SE Asia on staff.
He is the biggest McCain hater of all.

All of this speculation does raise questions about Palin, but until you have absolute proof, you are nothing more than a rumor mill. As for Sanford, your comments are over the top. Also, the KKK circuit remark about Palin is a bunch of crap. Remember, if it were not for the Republicans you folks seem to hate so much, the Civil Rights Act would have faltered. Check the history on that important piece of legislation.
I watched Sarah fly into our local airport and head down to finlay ohio.
She passed cities filled with voters to attend a rally of secessionist and KKK folks.
This is where, while she was talking, the crowd was yelling "Kill him" "Kill obama"...."Kill that N&%$$#@."
And you were where then?
You must be watching Fox News.
Trying to justify something done before the idiot was born is quite a reach.

Vic Baby,
Our guys know Sanford PERSONALLY.
You don't.
Do you remember the attempt by Richard Mellon Scaife (google : STEVE KANGA) to remove Clinton from office that involved bribing Kenneth Starr, former Solicitor General?
Sanford was a big part of that.
If you want to know history, perhaps even Latin American history...even a bit about Columbia, you might ask. We can help u with that.
Perhaps you might want to tell the people here about Columbia and Senator Paul Wellstone. You have some personal involvements there.
Your assumption that you are in the buffet line ahead of others is interesting and not reliable.
