Hundreds of thousands of servicemen were exposed to asbestos over decades, especially during the period from 1940 to 1980. Asbestos was used in construction of naval vessels as well as shore facilities. All branches of the military used asbestos, which was also widely used in civilian applications. Asbestos can cause mesothelioma. Because this cancer has a particularly long latency period, many servicemen who were exposed years ago are now developing this disease.

We fight for veterans harmed by asbestos: Veterans with mesothelioma or asbestos-related lung cancer should know they have options: the opportunity to bring a suit against manufacturers and sellers of the asbestos that caused their illness. If you were harmed by asbestos exposure, for example, in ships or military housing, contact Weitz & Luxenberg to get a free case review.
Important Information for Veterans: Asbestos products were often used on military ships and within military housing, and Veterans may have been exposed. Previous exposure to asbestos is the only known cause of mesothelioma, a fatal cancer that has no cure and affects countless Veterans and loved ones. News: "Obama, Obama, you are either with them, or with us!"
Posted on November 04, 2009 by tombarnes
The Associated Press released a stunning news article at 5:15 this evening, Eastern Time Zone.
There were riots in Tehran, Iran today and anti-government protestors were staging rallies and openly calling for President Obama to intervene! This is a startling turn of events and one that we all need to understand could have very deep implications for all of us for many years to come, regardless of what the U.S. government decides to do in Iran.
Here is that same story of today's clashes in Iran from the Washington Post.
On a related issue, the number of Americans who believe that Obama is keeping his campaign promises to the American people has dropped drastically in a recent poll taken by USA Today/Gallup Poll. Politics Daily has that story here.
Here is a story from the late edition of the Washington Post outlining the details of today's action by an Italian court which has convicted 23 Americans, mostly intelligence personnel, of crimes related to rendition of Muslims in Italy to other countries.
In the Post it is reported tonight that five British soldiers have been shot and killed by an Afghan policeman. He fled the scene but before he did, he wounded six other British soldiers and two Afghani policemen. That story is here.
In this story we find out that according to statistics released last week by the Army, 75% of all potential American Service age inductees (17 to 24) are not eligible for military service due to physical fitness problems or illegal activity in their past. That story is here.
In a late breaking story on Iraq, lawmakers have put off a vote again on how to handle elections in Kirkuk. It is making American diplomatic options with a barely legitimate government rather difficult. That story is here.
Tell me again. I am not really sure I understand. Exactly why is American blood and treasure being spilled all over the sands of Western Asia?

It is a long story Tom with many answers. In the most simple terms the banks want an oil pipeline from Turkmenistan to empty into the Arabian gulf. Iraq needed to be cut up so U.S. companies get the contracts and Israel gets part of the oil. Iran can't stay in one piece and be a bulwark to Israeli expansion in the area.
Iran has abandoned the dollar and is doing business with China and Russia another need to attack it. Also the Rothschild dream brought to us by PNAC needs to surround China and Russia as a move in the great game. It is a long sordid affair but if you are interested here is some reading for you.
Thank you. I appreciate your insight. Sending stories our way from your blog would be helpful to all of us trying to understand the roots of this insanity. Thanks again.

You know, seems I read a piece a long time ago that during the 'big one' (WW2) we sent a lot of money to Nationalist China to fight the Japanese and not much really happened there. It turned out that the government officials (when they weren't financing their escapades to 'Madame Nu's House of Pleasures' which cost, ohh a lot of money) were saving it up for AFTER the war when they would destroy the communists that were hiding out in the hills of Yunan. One of our generals (Stillwell) could speak Chinese and knew his way around pretty good but he got out flanked every time by Ghiang Kai Shek, his wife Madame Chiang, her brothers and of course other American generals (Chenault) and the British (Mountbatten). Meanwhile the communists WERE fighting the Japanese and their officials actually did have good government. Interesting piece. So I'm thinking Pakistan is doing just like Nationalist China did (take our money and save it for a big one with India) and sending the required amount of troops (for experience) but not enough. Of course, if I were in their shoes I would do the same with an extra thought, "It don't pay to be friends with the US. They are your friends today, but will turn on you tomorrow", many examples too. Maybe it IS a great game? Then again does this Smack of something like what happened to Spain in 1936? All that blood spilled... for nothing? And Much more to come until Someone higher up says, "ENOUGH!". For Iran, are they REALLY asking for our help (who are we to interfere with another country having a revolution by the way) or is it just another move in a crazy quilt pattern of world government? Overthrow this government, steal something they have that we want. "Go ahead and and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend. Do it in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the end". Billy Jack 1971
India's Mahabharata is 2300 years old and the longest book in the world. If you have never read it this one verse sums it up nicely.
"Yudhishthira has a vision of the age to come: “I see the coming of another age, where barbaric kings rule over a vicious, broken world; where puny, fearful, hard men live tiny lives, white hair at sixteen, copulating with animals, their women perfect whores, making love with greedy mouths. The cows dry, trees stunted, no more flowers, no more purity; ambition, corruption, the age of Kali, the black time”
