Subject: lost records BS
hello new to this but heres my story...Smashed my foot while on duty in alaska in1971. broke three bones but did a lot of nerve damage. Applied for benefits about 2002 as it was getting harder to walk and do my job as heavy equipment operator as a civilian. Am now 54 years old with many problems..Rheumatoid arthritis being the most serious and am disabled drawing early social security disability benefits. My initial claim was denied because my medical records cannot be found. The nerve damage from this service connected injury makes it impossible for me to walk now without crutches. I now live in Thailand because cannot afford America on S>S> benefits. Help please. There must be someone with elections coming that can help with this BS excuse of losing my records. Checked with prior buddies who witnessed my accident and all are deceased. Crying or Very sad
Thanks for no help
nice forum ...as usual several days and not one answer to my question..never mind..so typical in america nowdays
We've got a few VFW posts in Thailand and if you go to one of them you can get some answers.
As for this web site, we have links on the landing page that can be used to search for information.
It is good when a member logs on that has specific information that can help you, but traffic here these days isn't so heavy, as you've noticed.
All I could do would be the same thing you could do, search the Net or use one of the links we have on the landing page.

As gmg said, there is not alot of traffic here.. Is there anything in your regular service record that would indicate that you had an injury? You could always try to find some one from the units that you were in to help you substantiate your claims..
The VA is not perfect, though they do their best to get things done.. Somewhere, your medical record is out there. You will just have to keep on poking here and there with the VA OR a Veteran Service Rep to help you out with it..
