I read countless stories every day in the newspapers about how disgraceful U.S. Military Veterans are being treated. We are not asking for special anything. We gave our lives for you and the safety of the United States. We left as healthy children on a mission of defending and protecting the Constitution of the United States. We come back a changed person., no longer that innocent person that has no idea of the horrors of life. Some of us come back with disabilities of missing arms, legs or part of our face or brains. Other children return with hidden disabilities that make us appear normal but destroy our lives. We all remember parts of our tour that you back here can not conceive as the act that any sane person would commit. We camouflage these hidden demons deep in our subconscious never to be revealed. These silent echo’s of war diminish our ability to interact in public. We alienate our families to protect them from our camouflaged enemies deep in our heads. Our friends begin to question our uncivilized comments or actions at the most in opportune times. Our job performance becomes useless and we become homeless or perceived as a leech on society. We spend every waking moment dreading the reality that we can kill with out passion or feeling. These disgraceful stories are countless in number as the civilized society banishes those children that gave everything.
WE have Veteran’s hospitals that are the politicians way of making the public believe everything is great. Veterans care at these facilities are determined at the wish of the elected officials that the veteran may know. If a veteran goes public with wrongs the sheriff’s dept or other law officials will harass the veteran to protect the character of the politician. The news censors the public from the truth until it can help make a better profit for the news business.
Many Veterans receive great health care from very caring people at the Veterans hospitals and administration. I would estimate that may be 50% of the returning military personal that are now Veterans are maybe lost on the street, in society, jail or else ware because we as a society just can not conceive the countless stories that make the silent echoes of war deep in every veteran’s mind (that has been there). The disgraceful act of placing any one Veteran in dirty, uncared for conditions or basing health care on the political word of an elected official as a weapon to stop free speech is unacceptable. For the sheriff’s dept or any government official or law agency to know of criminal acts against veterans, then protect the judge or elected official over the individuals constitutional rights can not be tolerated.
