Medical Alerts & Other Health Issues - Information To Help You Live A Healthier Life

Iraq War Vets and Cancer

I am a veteran of O.I.F. 2, deployed from March 04 - March 05. I have recently had Colon Cancer surgery. I have read a few articles linking duty in Iraq with cancer. I am looking for any articles or sites with information
on this subject. I would like to understand why at the age of 44 i have developed such a disease.
I understand that Mosul was one site of the "shock and awe" campaign preceeding the campaign.
If anyone has information regarding this topic please let me know.

Whenever health issues come up I always go to the CDC for what information they have. I haven't heard of any connection between this health issue and a tour of duty in a hostile fire AO, but I'm no authority.

Here's a link to the CDC page on this particular health issue.

I reckon wishing you good luck may be inappropriate, but I do hope whatever medical steps are taken by your doctor(s) works and we see you posting here for another fifty plus years. And you know you have a place here to post and discuss if anything gets you down.

Cancer Center for proper treatment.
