Thefts From Veterans' Graves

WBEX-Shortly before 11 a.m. Friday, the Ross County Sheriff's Department responded to to a theft complaint at the Richmond Dale Cemetery in Jefferson Township, Ross County. 

Township Trustee Ryan Peters told officers that someone took 50 flag stands off the grave sites of veterans in the cemetery...but left the flags. 

It is unclear why anyone would take just the stands and leave the flags. 

Peters says he did not witness the theft.  The case was under investigation at the time of the report.
