The number of adults who “strongly disapprove” of Trump’s actions in Iran (39%) increased by 10% compared with the December poll.

Democrats’ growing distrust

Pravda: The survey results are largely divided by party affiliation. The level of disapproval over the past month has grown among Democrats and independents, while among Republicans it has not changed.

On average, nine out of ten Democrats and five out of ten independents disapprove of Trump’s actions in Iran. Among Republicans, one out of ten people does not approve of them. One in ten Democrats, four out of ten independents, and eight out of ten Republicans approve of Trump’s treatment of Iran.

The survey took place on January 6-7, amid growing tensions between the countries after the assassination of Iranian General Soleimani.

According to the survey, Trump’s overall popularity remained stable after his strike on Suleimani, with 41% of the population approving of his presidency and 54% of disapproving.

Premonition of war

The Americans also found themselves much more worried about the risk of war with Iran.

In a separate survey from January 3 to 6, it turned out that 41% of Americans see Iran as a “direct threat” to the United States, which is 17 points higher than the result of a survey on the same topic in May last year.

The survey also showed that 71% of Americans believe that in the next few years there will be a war between the States and Iran, which is 20 points higher than the May poll.

A growing minority of Americans say they now advocate a “proactive attack” on the Iranian armed forces. The survey showed that 27% said the United States should deliver the first blow, an increase of 15 points since May. Another 41% said the United States should not attack Iran first, while 33% found it difficult to answer.
