This is the second time in 3 weeks that the US air force has struck Syrian government forces north of the vital border crossing at Al-Tanf.
Jim W. Dean – Russian would not be putting regular army combat units into the Syria conflict now unless it was responding to the US coalition already having done so, to hold the line while the 100,000+ strong Iraqi Popular Militia Forces can help secure the Syrian Eastern border.
Jim W. Dean – The SAA strategy has allowed ISIS to regroup and set up defense points in the Maskanah countryside that can then be observed and bombed with no losses to the the Tiger Force, which has to conserve its equipment and experienced fighters.
The city of Raqqah is considered one of the most important Syrian cities. The city is located on the northeast bank of the Euphrates River, at the edge of “Sharqiya Syria”, a term used to describe eastern Syria. Syria’s largest dam, the Tabqah Dam is located 40 kilometers west of Raqqah.
