Jews’ absolute freedom to practice religion in Azerbaijan

azerbaijaniIn an interview with Yediot Ahronot, Israeli experts in international relations, Aryeh Goth announced: Azerbaijan makes outstanding efforts for religious tolerance.

Contrary to many other countries Azerbaijan government has never considered Jews as foreigners and despite some religious ceremonies restrictions that apply to the Shiite majority, Jews enjoy complete freedom in holding their ceremonies and receive moral and material support from the government of Azerbaijan.

Recalling recent events in the country and the adoption of restrictive laws against Muslims, Aryeh Goth referred to his meetings with high rank officials of the Azerbaijani government and said Ilham Aliyev government actions meet the interests of countries in the region and move in the fight against religious extremism, which are in line with Israeli interests.
