Hundreds of thousands of servicemen were exposed to asbestos over decades, especially during the period from 1940 to 1980. Asbestos was used in construction of naval vessels as well as shore facilities. All branches of the military used asbestos, which was also widely used in civilian applications. Asbestos can cause mesothelioma. Because this cancer has a particularly long latency period, many servicemen who were exposed years ago are now developing this disease.
- Mesothelioma Patient & Family Resources: Mesotheliomahelp is provided by Belluck & Fox, LLP as a comprehensive resource for mesothelioma victims and their families. The site provides up-to-date information on the latest news and treatment options as well as an easy to use search feature to find local mesothelioma doctors and health care clinics.
We fight for veterans harmed by asbestos: Veterans with mesothelioma or asbestos-related lung cancer should know they have options: the opportunity to bring a suit against manufacturers and sellers of the asbestos that caused their illness. If you were harmed by asbestos exposure, for example, in ships or military housing, contact Weitz & Luxenberg to get a free case review.
Important Information for Veterans: Asbestos products were often used on military ships and within military housing, and Veterans may have been exposed. Previous exposure to asbestos is the only known cause of mesothelioma, a fatal cancer that has no cure and affects countless Veterans and loved ones. Special Report: BELIEF OVER TRUTH: ROAD TO AMERICA'S DOWNFALL
Facts vs. Beliefs – Today’s Ancient Warfare
By Jeff Gates STAFF WRITER
In unconventional warfare, beliefs are deployed as weapons by those waging war by way of deception. Recall Iraqi weapons of mass destruction? Iraqi ties to Al Qaeda? Iraqi biological weapons laboratories? Iraqi meetings in Prague with Al Qaeda? Iraqi purchases of yellowcake uranium from Niger?
All these claims were alleged true but later proven false or, worse, fabricated. Yet all were widely believed. In combination, those beliefs induced a consensus to wage war in Iraq in response to a mass murder on U.S. soil. The same deception traceable to the same source is now working to expand this war to Iran.
News: American Soldiers Take Up Arms Against American Soldiers - 1846 to 1848 - St. Patrick's Battalion
We need to understand. What happened yesterday at Fort Hood has happened before. Here is an article from Wikipedia about the Saint Patrick's Battalion in the Mexican Army during our War with Mexico.
Irishmen deserted the American Army to form a battalion to fight for Mexico against their former comrades in arms. The disagreement was over religion. The Irish soldiers in the U.S. Army did not like the fact that they were being mistreated by their Protestant Anglo-American officers because of their Catholic religion. They fought against their fellow American soldiers because of what they perceived to be religious intolerance on the part of fellow soldiers toward them and a desire to stay out of combat against fellow Catholics in Mexico.
What happened yesterday has happened before. The San Patricios are heroes today in Mexico. It is a hard and bitter fact, but it is true. This has happened before.
News: May they rest in peace. May God help us all.
What can I say that has not already been said? Here is the news of the shootings at Fort Hood yesterday afternoon. I will not say anything about this horrible tragedy other than it is obvious now that we all need to step back and reevaluate the entire situation relative to the wars in Western Asia from top to bottom. It is clear that our basis for what so many of us believed about America, her armed forces and our commonly shared value system as a people and a nation was incorrect.
We are not the one-size-fits-all culture that we so fervently believed we were. We must recognize that now. Dozens of people are dead or seriously injured because of our insistence that all Americans agreed with these wars. Most do not.
I am going on the record before there is any official story at all on the murders at Ft. Hood. The more time passes, the more investigation goes on, the deeper it gets. 12 dead so far is a terrorist attack, not an Army psychiatrist with a stress problem. Nobody is at fault, not this president, not the last one and not the army. People kill people, not guns. It could always happen and it did. No coverup is wanted, no spin desired no CYA, nothing. Deal with it.
The most burning questions of our times are: How to solve the problems of the raging violence and bring closure to the War on Terror? It is imperative that hostilities emanating from 9/11 are stopped expeditiously, but how do we do it since 9/11 is infested with so many doubts and suspicions? What is true and what is false about 9/11 could only be clarified by a judicial inquiry, and so it is critical that the events of 9/11 should be investigated properly and thoroughly so truth may be discovered to bring closure to the raging hostilities.
It is therefore expedient to institute a Judicial Inquiry into the 9/11 events first to investigate the veracity of this crime and identify the perpetrators and then comprehend the nature of this conflict so its root-causes could be addressed to thwart recurrence of similar outbursts in the future.
News: "Obama, Obama, you are either with them, or with us!"
The Associated Press released a stunning news article at 5:15 this evening, Eastern Time Zone.
There were riots in Tehran, Iran today and anti-government protestors were staging rallies and openly calling for President Obama to intervene! This is a startling turn of events and one that we all need to understand could have very deep implications for all of us for many years to come, regardless of what the U.S. government decides to do in Iran.
Special Report: 30 REPUBLICAN SENATORS VOTE TO LEGALIZE RAPE
GANG RAPE LEGISLATION NIXED BY 30 GOP'ers
DEFENSE CONTRACTORS BUY SENATE VOTES
By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor
Is it this plain? Are the facts this clear? Did 30 Republicans vote to allow defense contractors protection if their employees are raped, drugged and imprisoned? Haliburton/KBR, the "Dick" Cheney company did exactly this, locked a rape victim in a box, drugged her and kept her prisoner.
Last year, Indian Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of the Maharashtra arrested a serving Lt. Col. Srikant Purohit, a retired army Major Samir Kulkarniand and some other officials in connection with the bomb blasts in the Malegaon and some other Indian cities including explosion of Samjhota express which killed many Muslims and 68 Pakistani passengers. But latest reports suggest that after receiving directions from high level, an Indian team, consisting of police and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)has compromised with the Hindu terrorists, especially of Indore regarding the incident of Smjhota Express.
New evidence has revealed that with the help of Indian secret agency, RAW, certain items such as suitcases, bottles and batteries used in the blasts were purchased by the Hindu extremists from Indore.
Special Report: BUSH AND CHENEY LIED: "TEARFUL" DOVER AFB VISITS NEVER HAPPENED
NO TIME TO HONOR AMERICA'S DEAD: BUSH/CHENEY HAD OTHER PRIORITIES, LIKE WHEN THEY MISSED THE VIETNAM WAR
by Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor
President Bush and Vice President Cheney claimed they had repeatedly visited Dover AFB to honor American war dead. Their claim that this was done quietly, with no cameras and no publicity is now proven to have been a total lie.
Neither Bush nor Cheney ever visited Dover. Neither came there, even once in 7 years of war, despite their stories told of tearful experiences that simply never happened.
This week, while attacking President Obama for a public visit to Dover to honor war dead, Vice President Cheney's daughter Liz again repeated the stories President Bush and her father told, now known to be lies.

Princess of Torture really is Daddy's Girl
By Gordon Duff, STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor
When dead American soldiers were brought back in secret, in shame, it was at the orders of Vice President Cheney. Cheney planned the Iraq invasion even before the election and well before 9/11. The Cheney's testimony before the 9/11 Commission is filled with things like, "We never thought anyone would attack America, we knew nothing, nothing, nothing....never expected anything at all."
Osama bin Laden as Responsible for the 9/11 Attacks: Is This Belief Based on Evidence?
by David Ray Griffin for Veterans Today
The idea that Osama bin Laden was responsible for the 9/11 attacks has been an article of faith for public officials and the mainstream media. Calling it an “article of faith” points to two features of this idea. On the one hand, no one in these circles publicly challenges this idea.
On the other hand, as I pointed out at length in two of my books – 9/11 Contradictions1 and The New Pearl Harbor Revisited,2 no good evidence has ever been publicly presented to support it.
Colin Powell’s Withdrawn Promise Two weeks after 9/11, Secretary of State Colin Powell, speaking to Tim Russert on Meet the Press, said that he expected “in the near future . . . to put out . . . a document that will describe quite clearly the evidence that we have linking [bin Laden] to this attack.”3
News: Obama visits returning war dead at Dover AFB
In today's New York Times there is an article concerning the President visiting the returning war dead at Dover AFB. Thank you Mr. President, I appreciate your leadership. Just one mild suggestion however from a fellow Democrat and one who voted for you. It is about saluting. Civilians do not do it. Ever.
It is not appropriate for civilians to use a military salute. Please place your hand over your heart in these situations, that is the proper response from the President. The last thing we need in this country is more and continual perpetuation of the "militarization" of American politics and the American civilian chain of command. It is not appropriate in our civilian led government to "militarize" our civic duties.
We want civilians in charge at all times in this Republic. I appreciate your attempt at respect but you are the President, and not a general. Please act like the civilian in charge at all times. That is what we want from this Republic's commander in chief of the armed forces, a civilian. Thank you sir.
News: Explosions, Theology, Hatred and Druggies on U.S. Payroll - Our Middle East Policy
Today's New York Times, like so often before, offers a microcosmic view of U.S. policy in the Middle East and around the world like nothing else seems to be able to do. Lets start with the headlines, shall we? They are not pretty today.
In this story, Ahmed Wali Karzai, the brother of the President of Afghanistan and a major opium dealer in that country has just been revealed as an alleged reciepient of U.S. intelligence payments. He is on the CIA payroll. Great! Who else is on that payroll, Beelzebub?
Lets move on. There is plenty of terror and death to read about.
VeteransToday.com - Israeli officials are right to worry. Gazans too. Yet Americans should worry even more.Israel’s “legitimacy” will not last.
Of course, that assumes its legitimacy was deserved. That issue also is now called into question in light of the consistency of Israeli behavior over the past six decades. The emerging issues are these: When and how will the recognition of Israel’s nation-state status be withdrawn? How will Tel Aviv behave in the interim?
Opinion: Will Someone Please Check Chuck Norris' Meds?
GOOD ACTOR BUT 3RD RATE CONSPIRACY WINGNUT
By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor
Lord only know, I like Chuck Norris, his films, his TV shows and even his hokey infomercials. As one of the real people Norris pretends to be in his movies, he can be inspiring, if not massively overstated.
As a Vietnam War combat vet, I love being portrayed in overblown Hollywood style. However, when it comes to having Norris use his status as a "Vietnam Era" Air Force vet to spout crazy conspiracy mumbo jumbo, someone, please get this man some help. His last article in the extremist WorldNetDaily is simply sick.
News: Obama is continuing Bush era torture cover up policies - New York Times
In today's New York Times there is an editorial pounding the Obama Administration, and rightly so, for continuing the Bush Era cover-up policy on CIA and American military torture overseas. That story is here. The editors of the Times are correct. We either have a transparent, democratic government based on law and justice or we do not. There is no middle ground.
Release all information on torture and American involvement now. This is what Mr. Obama clearly campaigned on, transparent government. This is what the real America needs to do in order to regain its soul.
News: Let's ponder the Washington Post's views on the world today
What a day for tragedy and contemplation today is! First up we have a blast in Baghdad that has killed 100 people outright, left at least another 500 maimed or wounded and put into serious question whether or not President Maliki of Iraq can satisfactorily govern or provide security for the Iraqi people. The story is here.
We must understand that this comes eight years after a U.S. invasion. It cost thousands upon thousands of U.S. and coalition forces combat deaths and injuries and thousands of Iraqi deaths and all of it due to the Wars of the Muslim Reformation. We got ourselves involved in an ongoing religious war among Muslims for the sake of the American war industries and their profit margin. How do you feel about this?
News: Biden on Cheney's Afghan War Criticisms of Obama: "Who cares?"
In today's New York Times we have Vice President Biden obviously tiring of the former GOP Administrations' views of virtually anything. Here is the article with a short excerpt:
"In the latest exchange between old and new administrations, Mr. Biden rebuffed his predecessor’s criticism about President Obama’s handling of Afghanistan as “absolutely wrong.” And Mr. Biden rejected the last review of the war conducted by the White House under former President George W. Bush and Mr. Cheney as “irrelevant.”

by Frank Schaeffer...The repentant right wing activist applauds the White House for holding Fox 'News' accountable, charges they 'seem to be trawling for assassins'...
President Obama is getting criticism for going after Fox News. I fault the White House too: for not going far enough. The real issue is not Fox's right wing "bias." The real issue is that Fox News seems to be trawling for assassins. Here's the letter White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs should write. Or maybe it should come from the head of United States Secret Service.
Special Report: U.S. Invaded Syria, murder at al-Sukariya
On October 26, 2008, U.S. helicopters stormed a farm near the Iraq-Syria border in order to assassinate leading al-Qaeda operative Abu Ghadiya. One year later, the authors report from Syria that the raid may have been botched, and the lives of seven innocent civilians were mistakenly taken instead.
Akram Hamid scrubs the grease off his hands after a day of labor in Abu Kamal, a small Syrian town not far from the Iraqi border. Twenty minutes later, the mechanic rides his motorcycle past the autumn-dry rushes along the west bank of the placid Euphrates River, to al-Sukariya, happy to start fishing. It is dusk on a Sunday in October and the turned earth of the fields is pungent. Scattered farmers amble slowly home. A few late-season frogs pulse beneath the birds, chattering and thrashing in the rushes, as Hamid gets off his bike and scoots down the bank to drop his line.
Is Osama bin Laden still alive? I have dealt with this question in a recent little book entitled Osama bin Laden: Dead or Alive?1 The present essay summarizes the main points of this book.2 Since the transference of power from the Bush administration to that of the Barack Obama administration, the question of whether bin Laden is dead or alive has become more important.
BIN LADEN'S DEATH NEWS SUPPRESSED TO SUPPORT IRAQ WAR INTEL LIES
By Gordon Duff and Raja Mujtaba STAFF WRITERS
Osama bin Laden died during or immediately after the Tora Bora attack in December 2001. The cause is believed to have been wounds complicated by advanced kidney disease. This fact is universally accepted in Afghanistan, Pakistan and elsewhere in the Islamic world.
It has now reached the point in Pakistan that whenever an Osama bin Laden tape is on television, people roll around the floor laughing themselves to death. This has been verified through the highest levels of Pakistan's military and intelligence services who have confirmed that, not only has Bin Laden been dead for years but the United States has known and accepted this fact, a fact well known to our political, intelligence and military leaders, since well before the invasion of Iraq and confirmed by sources active in FBI counter-terrorism at that time.
This week, House Minority Leader Republican Steve Boehner demanded that President Obama send thousands more troops to Afghanistan immediately with no debate. Majority Leader, Democrat Steny Honer reminder Boehner;
"My Republican colleagues abandoned their focus on Afghanistan for seven years, seven years, and let it drift, and did not resource it properly, and did not succeed. We were under-resourced in Iraq for at least five-and-a-half years. Where were the Republicans? They were in charge. Where were they?"
Was the "step aside" that allowed 9/11, the phony intel starting the Iraq War and the dismal failure in Afghanistan Bush incompetence or was it part of a plan to occupy Central Asia for its oil, gas and opium under the guise of a phony war, investing dead soldiers and reaping massive profits?

News: Flux is everywhere now and the news reflects that.
According to news releases just now being posted on the internet these past few hours it seems that the American people are being faced with national security concerns that will radically alter our perception of reality vis a vis our role in western Asia and the Middle East.
Where should I start? There is so much going on right now concerning these swiftly changing political and national defense situations that it is actually a little disconcerting. Nothing seems solid right now. A lot of our perceptions seem to be mostly mist and fog. Take a look.
Sunday's suicide bomb attack in Iran's Sistan-Baluchistan province, in which five senior officers of the Revolutionary Guard and at least 30 other people were killed, marks a significant escalation in an ongoing Sunni Islamist terror campaign directed against the Islamic Republic. We do not believe that Sunday's attack and the ongoing campaign of terrorist violence represents a fundamental threat to the Islamic Republic's basic political stability.
News: Bombs Useless versus War Against Muslim Reformation
If we are going to continue to engage in the Wars of the Muslim Reformation we need to use theology. Bombs are useless.
by Tom Barnes, Staff Writer
In today's Washington Post there is a lengthy article about Americans and Europeans travelling to the Middle East to take Taliban training in jihadist causes, mostly learning how to fight Western coalition forces already stationed in western Asia. This is a large group of people.
