Louisville Mayor Says City Will Pay $12m to Family of Black Police Shooting Victim Breonna Taylor

…from Sputnik News, Moscow

[ Editor’s Note: It appears that Mayor Fischer moved quickly on this to take responsibility for the tragedy, not only for Miss Taylor and her family, but the officers and their families due to a ‘no knock’ policy that has been a waiting time bomb to go off, but the decision was made to take the risk by policy deciders.

I can’t imagine how many houses there are where police executing a no knock warrant would be met with gunfire, including many in the VT family.

Part of the problem for this no knock nonsense going on is that the city fathers do not bear the pain of these large awards, the city taxpayers do, and that is an issue for them to deal with on election day, along with Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden.

The flip side is we see Black Lives Matter leaders staining their brand after young black gang hoodlums pull guns on cops and deservedly get their asses shot in self defense, and BLM takes a lynch mob down to City Hall to blame the innocent policeman because they feel it helps keep their movement pumped.

The are burning up support they could have gotten from people like me. They have a lot of maturing to do. I am waiting for the first report of BLM giving training on “how to not resist getting arrested and avoid getting shot.”

But I don’t think BLM would be interested. They are feeding off these killings to build their leadership profiles and support, that leaves a Dracula kind of taste in my mouth. Cops have rights to defend themselves, too.

We have grand juries to deal with abuses, which include the horrendous level of black on black crime in their neighborhoods. BLM risk losing long term stature unless they get more professional… Jim W. Dean ]

“I’m deeply, deeply sorry for Breonna’s death,” Fischer told reporters. “My administration is not waiting to move ahead with needed reforms to prevent a tragedy like this from ever happening again.”

Kentucky State Attorney Daniel Cameron is investigating the officers involved over the shooting, which sparked months of protests in the city., and is expected to bring the case before a grand jury this week to determine whether charges can be brought.

  1. This is what happens when you send in an Israeli-trained death squad instead of a social worker. Common sense, Jim.

  2. There are several layers of that, starting with we have people whose spouses are on board, and the people with whom we have had many decades long relationships. But of two squads that Gordon had in two tours there, last time we talked about it only a few of them were still alive. I was shocked when he took me through the statistics of a million Nam vets dying several decades before the normal life expectancy.
