China unveils strategic map for a nuclear submarine attack on U.S. cities

November 1, 2013 – BEIJING – Chinese state-run media revealed for the first time this week that Beijing’s nuclear submarines can attack American cities as a means to counterbalance U.S. nuclear deterrence in the Pacific.

On Monday, leading media outlets including China Central TV, the People’s Daily, the Global Times, the PLA Daily, the China Youth Daily and the Guangmin Daily ran identical, top-headlined reports about the “awesomeness” of the People’s Liberation Army navy’s strategic submarine force.

“This is the first time in 42 years since the establishment of our navy’s strategic submarine force that we reveal on such a large scale the secrets of our first-generation underwater nuclear force,” the Global Times said in a lengthy article titled “China for the First Time Possesses Effective Underwater Nuclear Deterrence against the United States.”

The article features 30 photos and graphics detailing, among other things, damage projections for Seattle and Los Angeles after being hit by Chinese nuclear warheads and the deadly radiation that would spread all the way to Chicago.

China’s sub fleet is reportedly the world’s second-largest, with about 70 vessels. About 10 are nuclear-powered, and four or more of those are nuclear ballistic submarines capable of launching missiles.

Heavily influenced by Soviet naval models that stressed underwater forces, China’s nuclear submarine development began with the reverse-engineering of a Soviet Golf-class conventional-powered sub in the 1950s. In the 1980s, China developed its first ballistic missile sub, the Type 092 Xia-class, which has 12 launch tubes for the Julang (Giant Wave)-1 missiles.

The JL-1 had a limited range and failed multiple test launches. In 2010, a new class of missile sub, the Type 094 Jin class, entered the service. It is capable of launching 12 to 16 JL-2 missiles with a range of about 8,700 miles, covering much of the continental U.S. with single or multiple, independently targetable re-entry vehicle warheads.

Chinese calculations for nuclear attacks on the U.S. are chillingly macabre. “Because the Midwest states of the U.S. are sparsely populated, in order to increase the lethality, [o[our]uclear attacks should mainly target the key cities on the West Coast of the United States, such as Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego,” the Global Times said.

The 12 JL-2 nuclear warheads carried by one single Type 094 SSBN can kill and wound 5 million to 12 million Americans,” the Global Times reported.

China also has developed land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles — notably the DF-31A, which has a range of 7,000 to 7,500 miles. “If we launch our DF 31A ICBMs over the North Pole, we can easily destroy a whole list of metropolises on the East Coast and the New England region of the U.S., including Annapolis, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Portland, Baltimore and Norfolk, whose population accounts for about one-eighth of America’s total residents,” the Global Times said.

All the state-run press reports stressed the point that the PLA’s missile submarines are now on routine strategic patrol, “which means that China for the first time has acquired the strategic deterrence and second strike capability against the United States.”

“Our JL-2 SLBMs have become the fourth type of Chinese nuclear missiles that threaten the continental United States, after our DF-31A, DF-5A and DF-5B ICBMs,” said the Global Times. –The Washington Post

Chinese unveil nuclear sub fleet: China has displayed its nuclear submarines for the first time in over four decades to showcase their “excellent safety” record as part of a naval drill. The submarines were shown as taking part in exercises along with naval ships and helicopters.

The drill is the first open-sea drill in which maritime and air forces from all three of China’s fleets have taken part, state-run Xinhua news agency reported on Monday.

“We are China’s first nuclear submarine force, and the 42 years since our establishment have witnessed our success in avoiding nuclear accidents,” Rear Admiral Gao Feng, commander of one of the People’s Liberation Army navy’s submarine bases, told reporters in Qingdao port.

While state television has shown the footage of the submarines taking part in the exercises, which according to the official media is the first time in 42 years ever since it began inducting nuclear submarines in the fleet, the print media highlighted its safety track with no accident record.

The exercises in the west Pacific went on “despite foreign disturbance,” the People’s Liberation Army said. Foreign military vessels and reconnaissance aircraft, reportedly from Japan and US remained in the exercise area for an undue time monitoring Chinese activity in the close distance and seriously disturbing the naval drill, reports said. –Indian Express

Its amazing how many idiots actually still believe anything in print. This is just more fear and war mongering from the same NWO cabal that tried to start world war III via Syria. Just love watching the same spastic knee jerk responses from a dumbed down, controlled and manipulated populace.

I read the original article a week ago, China revealing their nuke sub fleet as well as the over-the-North-Pole missile plan. With the news of the sub fleet, they weren’t bragging that they have 1st strike capability. They were saying they have 2nd strike capability, which is far more serious.

By the way, the link that says Wash. Post is actually Wash. Times. The Post did have a similar article, though.

Even a ‘limited nuclear war’, given the fragile state of the world’s political and economic systems, would likely end ‘civilization’ as we know it. Throughout the world populations are demoralized, emotionally exhausted and barely hanging on to sanity due to the incessant fear mongering, loss of livelihood and other transformative changes such as the growing panopticon and police state measures. People should cease at once this infantile speculation about winners and losers in the the event of nuclear conflict on any scale. Pray that it never happens.

The extinction protocol website is very much gloom & doom end of the world orientated …. pre-suggestion / strategy of tension anyone ?

There are also no contact details posted and using a wordpress domain circumvents any ID issues arising from a “whois” query.

“[…This tends to make this article seem a bit like crazy Indian propaganda. It is our estimation that his article is a dangerous hoax… Gordon Duff ]”

This article from The Extinction Protocol cites the Indian Express as its source. Here’s that article:

The article is a condensed version of an article that appeared in Chinese media. It is a straight-forward news article. Nothing in it suggests that the Chinese are building a first-strike nuclear force.

The Extinction Protocol “enhanced” the Indian Express article, doing a fear mongering routine on us.

Gordon is right — it is a serious hoax. However the source was not India.

Here are two MAJOR chinese websites. The subs are announced and pictured but no nuclear strike maps. Could the articles mentioned here be from fake or disinfo news? Its not like China to have the Samson option nor to show their hand. I look at this Chinese news regularly and seems site below is what China wants westerners to see.

sounds like a blast , don’t forget the marshmallows

If you will recall, a year or two back, China got one of their subs close in to a major city off the west coast undetected and fired off a ICBM. Not what the MSM said happened but from all evidence is exactly what happened. Missile was fired out to sea, just a warning to Washington that they could do it.

I remember a story about them knocking out the electronics of a ship. VT had an artcle on this event. They also had an article on a chinese satellite suddenly docking with a different satellite, but didn’t offer an explanation of it. If I might make a crazy indian guess, either they can confuse western tracking technology or they can teleport???

My gut tells me they are farther along than our side will admit and while the taxpayer is screwed for trillions of dollars in military complex gee-whiz weapons and gadgets, that we are less prepared than we are led to believe. Form personal experience I know Washington and the military lies about the effectiveness and capacities of our weapons.

Sometimes it goes the other way: they pretend china is ahead like in weather modification because, lol, they use cannons to make it rain, meanwhile America generates hurricanes with HAARP.

That was a demonstration that they could defeat all of our detection technology, get that close, fire, and get away. Needless to say it was never make public and you know why.

Just like a Russian nuclear submarine was in the Mexican Gulf a couple of years ago.
We better hope it stays with a show offf.

    Thanks for the comment, Gordon.
Some here (like me for a start) have no knowledge of things military.

The message is: China has the capacity to fully destroy the USA should the USA ‘try’ to destroy China. That should be enough of a deterrence to keep the USA from trying. China is a master in Sun Tzu’s Art of War. Less elegantly put: “Don’t mess with me”.

Off topic but important – breaking news development – a joint Swiss, French and Russian team of scientists have just examined Yasser Arafat’s remains. They have concluded that he was POISONED with Polonium 210 – a radioactive substance also used to kill the Russian dissident Litvenenko in London – (and which was subsequently blamed on the Russians – I hope that MI6 are taking careful note of this).
Now we need to think about the list of suspects who might have wanted Arafat dead – and possessed radioactive substances to use for assassination. It is not a very long list.

      Litvinenko who visited Israel.
      Haaretz Nov. 24, 2006
Russian-born businessman Leonid Nevzlin, former CEO of the Yukos oil company and current chairman of the Diaspora Museum in Tel Aviv, said Friday that he had met in Israel with former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko, who died Thursday in London from poisoning.

I just read that in The Independent. Amazing, looks like the usual suspects got nailed. Why nothing in the NYT?
