French Air Force Launches Major Airstrike Against ISIL Positions in Syria

Dassault Rafale

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the ministry’s Sunday statement, a command center and a training camp were destroyed in the strike which hit the ISIL stronghold of Raqqa.

“The first target destroyed was used as a command center, a center for preparation of jihadists and an ammunition depot. The second target was a camp for training of terrorists,” the statement said.

According to the ministry, 10 planes were involved in the operation.

France is part of a US-led international coalition bombing Islamic State positions in Iraq and Syria.

On Friday night, eight extremists wearing explosive belts attacked several venues across Paris, killing 129 people and injuring over 350 at restaurants, the Bataclan concert hall and in the vicinity of the Stade de France stadium. Responsibility for the attacks was claimed by the Islamic State.

  1. I would hope that France is co-operating in this attack with the Russians and not the US and hitting genuine targets not Water Works, Electrical Grids, Oil fields etc.
It seemed to be a quick response to attack Syria when all the facts are not yet known but then the French are like that.
That well known saying,”By way of deception thou shalt do war” is closer to the truth in Paris!
Nice gesture but if you want to improve the world strike a bit more to the Southwest!

  2. Your logic is a normal reaction, only Putin is glued to the turp and, fixed on Obama like a laser. Just study the still from the footage. Anyone with little training in this area can immediately identify full cooperation and most likely, groundwork for continued cooperation going forward. Not only behind closed doors but also in full view… One doesn’t focus like this if they’re not interested. This is basic eyeball to eyeball level interaction…..opening course human observation education 101.

    • The issue there is the all to real Samson option. I am pretty sure it is used irrespective of the type of warfare.

But yes, be the right thing to do. And while we are at it turn the house of Saud into a bunch of nomadic sheep shaggers.

  3. Okay boys and girls…someone is playing games here.

Everyone paying attention? Look at the last pic in the article.

Something look fishy? You think all-seeing eye, masonic logo, New World Order stuff top right behind Putin belongs in this picture?

    Check out the original

Can you say photoshop? Sure ya can.

So what’s the end game with that pic on VT?

  4. I wouldn’t wonder if some french jets would now “accidentally” bomb Assad headquarters. I bet the french pilots (whose friends, cousins or family might have been in Paris for the past days) wonder now why didn’t we get these bombing orders last week? Or last year? We know of the camps for couple of years now and we still needed false flag to go and attack?

  5. Robert Russia has insisted Assad stays and that Syria remains a homogeneous single sovereign country!
That was the cause of the Vienna talks failure!

  6. #Robert, not sure where you are picking that up from. As far as I can tell from Lavrov’s comments to Kerry in the press conference after the meeting he certainly wasn’t giving Assad away.

There are a few twists and turns to come yet.

  7. The game is over. A deal has been done even before the Vienna meeting that Assad will step aside. It looks as if Russia has caved in with all the pressure being exerted, including Paris bombings just before the meeting, no doubt to be blamed on Assad if he did not step aside. It does not matter now who is bombing who. There will be no resistance by the Assad Government. Another Arab Nation now unable to wage war on Israel. How long before Iran is next??
