Assad told Iranian state TV Thursday that his country still supports him, and he warned that any intervention in Syria will cause a "domino" effect in the region. He has given similar warnings before, saying the entire Middle East will go up in flames if others meddle in his country. Syria: Fate of Pres. Assad excluded from peace talks

The heart of the EU gets a double strike
The heart of the EU gets a double strike

[ Note: As I am typing we have the news of the Brussels bombing shortly after Erdogan throwing a fit over the Kurdish PKK political wing having promoted itself at an EU event there.

When I read his not too veiled prediction that the bombings would be coming to Brussels as payback for this event, I did not think it would be so soon. So is ISIL using Erdogan for cover in this attack, or the other way around?

The other option is ISIL retribution for the arrest of Salah Abdeslam, the claimed leader of the Paris attack. But his people have been being taken down in literally a street to street search over the past months, so its being able to do a major attack like this while under the gun is not feasible. It would have to have been a totally separate group with no contact with Abdeslam’s.

The major intelligence agencies are all required to have off-the-shelf terrorist counterattacks ready to be deployed “when needed” for what is described as “national security” events, which is the euphemism for a false flag terror attack.

This is why these same Intel agencies, which “monitor” terror groups and infiltrate them, never wipe them out, as then they don’t have them around to use when needed for events like this.

Turkey has gotten the stiff arm from the EU on membership, similar to Ukraine, and for good reason. There is substantial resistance to the refugee deal from some EU countries, and how much they have to pay Erdogan through the nose to turn down the refugee deluge, which there is no need for anymore with the peace process in motion, if that is what the main players really want.

I can assure you that Obama ordered a quick assessment from the CIA as to Turkey’s involvement in this Brussels bombing. With a full court press in hunting down the Paris-bombing Belgian-support remnants, none of those people would have been used in a new attack. A separate team would have been used, one off the radar.

The best way to do that is always to bring in an outside team to do the work, while lining up local patsies to take the hit. This routine was repeated endlessly during the Cold War, where virtually all US contingency plans for military intervention included a false flag terror attack with the appropriate patsy, where the US would be going in to “restore order”.

Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations says the fate of President Bashar al-Assad is excluded from peace talks. Bashar al-Jaafari said talks about Assad’s future do not deserve a response. He made the remarks following a new round of talks at the UN office in Geneva.

The top government negotiator stressed that whatever the names of armed groups in Syria, they are all terrorists. He criticized the slow progress of the negotiations, stressing that there hasn’t been any serious intent from the other side.

Jaafari also criticized the International Syria Support Group for failing to provide a list of terrorist groups. He said they still don’t know which opposition groups they are going to negotiate with.
