Religious scholars in Qom denounced the suppression of Bahraini people – Sheikh Isa Qassim

Sheikh Issa QassemA gathering was held in Qom by clergymen and theology students in support of Sheikh Isa Qassim, Bahrain’s Shiite leader.

In this glorious gathering held by clergymen, the emphasis was placed upon the freedom of speech and removal of political suppression meted out by Al Khalifa despots.

Harrowing events of suppression and pressure upon resistant and vigilant people of Bahrain in the current repression of human rights continue to persist. And arrests and affront to religious heads and especially Sheikh Isa Qassim are representative of the oppressed people demanding freedom in this country.

Sheikh Abdullah Daqaq, one of the Bahraini scholars, who attended this gathering said: “we have gathered in the city of theology and theologians to express our support for the oppressed people in Bahrain and denounce the annulment of his birth certificate by Bahraini government.”

He also added: Religion and theology schools announce on the first days of the new school year that Sheikh Isa Qassim has an esteemed eminence of spirituality and science and is a prominent figure, popular with the World’s free thinkers and people. And theology schools should intervene in such these affairs as the annulment of birth certificate and despicable acts and misbehavior toward him.

This comes as Hujjatu-Islam Akhtari, head of the international body of Ahle Bait Alaihissalam admonished the Persian Gulf rulers and pointed out that Al Khalifa’s despots’ policy will not be unlike that of Saddam Hussein’s, the Iraqi dictator, which made him perish.

It is noteworthy that after five years since Bahrain’s revolution which the government has been trying to repress, and despite all the strict regulations and serious efforts, cries of Bahraini people are heard, although the government intends to suppress people and their struggles by arresting and removing them from the political stage in order to smother the flames of the revolution.
