(WFLA) — America’s veterans.  They put their lives on the line protecting your freedoms.  But, what about the rights and benefits they earned?

Hundreds of thousands are waging prolonged battles with the Department of Veterans Affairs.  They are told they are dead when they are alive.  Poisoned at Camp Lejeune, exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam, Thailand and elsewhere, they find themselves on waiting lists to see doctors and for benefits.  Their appeals cases take longer to settle than America’s involvement in World War  II.

  1. Fox News recently did a “news” segment on canceling the Food Stamps program (SNAP) due to US$70 Million in alleged fraud. SNAP has a US$70+ Billion budget, which is 0.1% of the yearly U.S. Govt. budget.

Given the above and given the hypocritical Republican Congress’ recently stated intent to eliminate the Congressional ethics office (after Trump’s “Drain The Swamp” campaign slogan), will Republicans now move to privatize or eliminate the Department of Veterans’ Affairs? We’ll soon see… ;-).

  2. Agent Orange, shells with depleted uranium, microwave generators – when you are soldier, your country needs you. If wounded or retired – forgets you soon. Wonder, that in the USA veterans(i don’t mean 100%) have great number of suicide, have no good job, loose homes and degrade because the State doesn’t need them anymore. Unfortunately, the same we have in Russia: only relatives keep up retired soldiers. That was since Afghanistan. Then – Chechnya. Now we have improved situation.

    • By the way, Edward, bring me some examples of Red Army war crimes. And which war exactly.
Yes, Putin has raised an army to a new level. He made in the army prestigious and professional. Young men go into the army with pleasure. New equipment, weapons, career. Under Yeltsin, the Americans might try to take the country. The army was in the doldrums. But the Russians are very unpredictable and no one knows what would it ended.
