This week, Eric Trump visited Uruguay on the taxpayer’s nickel, dancing our Secret Service and Embassy stooges around while “doing family business.” What is that family business, is it gambling or hotels or perhaps something a bit darker?
At the heart of Trump’s organizations, sits Felix Sater, mob boss to some, philanthropist and “man of the year” to others, a man who once stabbed another man in the face in public with a broken wine glass and only avoided prison time thanks to the intervention of the FBI and CIA.
Just as Sater’s real role is hidden behind the veneer of a legitimate Wall St. career, the real business of the Trump empire is also hidden and very far from what the public imagines.
It began before the election, Trump acolytes to Israel, to Russia and even obscure Macedonia, meeting with intelligence officials, making promises, every bit of it at odds with election law and American citizenship.
Similar accusations were made against then Vice President George H.W. Bush, when it was said he met with Iranian representatives in Paris prior to the 1980 election.
It was alleged that Bush promised the Iranians an arms deal if they agreed to hold American embassy hostages until after the election. What resulted was known as the ‘October Surprise’, it achieved Bush’s aim of thwarting a second Carter term and inserting an easily controlled puppet into the oval office in the form of B-movie actor Ronnie Reagan.
This is, of course, now a “proven” conspiracy theory. No such deal was ever made though the hostages were held until after the election and 47 members of the Reagan staff were convicted of felonies related to illegal arms deals with Iran. Truth be told, Reagan himself faced prison as well, though the investigation was dropped after a dramatic exhibition of Alzheimer symptoms during testimony.
It’s hard to describe the Trump “organization” as such, his decades of “colorfulness” have accumulated scamsters, fellow conmen, mobsters and even a following of Nazi militia types the press politely refers to as the “alt-right.”
What they are up to is showing up all over the world, in the offices of the rich and powerful, the heads of governments and corporations, claiming to be able to secure all kinds of deals because they possess direct yet covert access to Trump himself.
Whether this is true or not, their goal is clear – to extract payments or their services. You want to shortcircuit all that official diplomatic and bureaucratic nonsense and get straight down to business with Trump? Sure, that can be arranged, but it’s gonna cost….
Peddling influence in this way is textbook organised crime practice and has been one of the main ways that tinpot dictators have stolen immense sums from their countries for decades.
Africa in particular, has been plagued by such corruption, names like Robert Mugabe, Muammar Gaddafi and Idi Amin will be all too familiar, all were past masters of the corrupt arts; most recently, South African President Jacob Zuma has been accused of precisely this sort of influence peddling and of turning his country in a mafia state as a result.
Is this where the USA under Trump is headed – a mafia state resembling the kind of tinpot dictatorship so familiar from the ‘bad old days’ in Africa, South America and Asia where the power to achieve anything at all in the country was held by the leader and his close circle, many of them his relatives? Where corruption and ‘pay to play’ replace democracy and justice and the regime has to increasingly rely on ever more draconian policing?
Was Trump’s attempt to ban Muslims from entering the USA a cynical attempt to test the waters of public reaction to the imposition of at least a subset of the misguided legal provisions for defacto martial law written into code by Dubya Bush after 9/11?
Trump used these provisions to implement his ‘no Muslims’ ban, citing what he believes is a terrorism emergency that requires a suspension of legal rights.
Of course, the position of Trump’s court that this is a legitimate time of emergency is utterly ludicrous, totally fabricated and designed to provide false justification for further attempts to restrict freedoms.
The existing legal provisions that Trump has exploited were created as a result of the 9-11 false flag operation, as was the infrastructure to be able to carry out the kind of police actions those provisos allow.
Hence the US police have been militarised and the DHS has been lavishly equipped with resources ranging from the notorious ‘Fusion Centres’ tasked with coordinating all police and intelligence assets to the FEMA camps that could house either refugees of natural disasters or, more likely, become defacto concentration camps to detain the more troublesome citizens.
If Trump intends to take the USA further down the road to emulating a tinpot dictatorship replete with all the necessary organs of a paramilitary fascist police state then he will have to convince the US public that his imagined state of emergency is real and in order to do that, he would have to carry out another false flag on the scale of 9-11. We already know who would be blamed – those pesky Muslims he just tried to ban.
A common practice in quashing freedoms is to pick out a hated or despised group and pass laws limiting their right to speech or due process, even life itself. The basic tenets of Magna Carta, written into the constitution, are then called upon to restore those rights with a very rare and carefully defined exception that Mr. Trump has decided to play with:
Article One, Section 9, clause 2: “The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it.”
Mental whiplash during a tweeting session doesn’t constitute either rebellion of the 18th century equivalent of an invasion. Thus we contend that this president, more than any other, is likely to orchestrate an attack on the United States to protect himself from criminal prosecution for what has to be painfully clear in his recent actions, an egregious attack on American freedom and justice.
The world is talking about the Muslim ban and the upcoming court challenges, a world led around in a meaningless circle, obsessed with trivialities. Before we describe this hidden side of the Trump circus, let’s take a moment out to see where we have really gotten and why America faces a greater threat from within than ever before, as Lincoln warned so long ago.
“From whence shall we expect the approach of danger? Shall some trans-Atlantic military giant step the earth and crush us at a blow? Never. All the armies of Europe and Asia…could not by force take a drink from the Ohio River or make a track on the Blue Ridge in the trial of a thousand years. No, if destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men we will live forever or die by suicide.”
The “ban” was stayed by a Federal judge because it suspended habeas corpus, the only constitutional procedure for eliminating due process and equal protection rights even for “green card” holders who are not citizens. The constitution is quite clear on this issue. From Forbes:
In U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark, an 1898 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that the term “person” under the Fifth Amendment applied to aliens living in the U.S. In Fong Yue Ting v. U.S.,the court held that Chinese laborers, “like all other aliens residing in the United States,” are entitled to protection of the laws.
“There’s no dispute at the absolute core,” said Andrew Kent, a constitutional scholar at Fordham Law. “If somebody is picked up by police they the have same Miranda and due process rights in all contexts except immigration law.”
Every nation, every corporation that does business with the United States is on a list. Every organization, international charities and NGO’s, many replete with slush funds for just this purpose, dealing with tinpot dictators and their greasy minions, is already making payoffs to Trump associates. It began on November 5, 2016 and takes place anywhere an envelope can be passed or whenever the magic numbers for that Cayman Islands or Panama wire transfer can be passed along.
What we are beginning to hear about is the confusion, one day a Russian/Israeli oligarch has his hands out, the next day it’s an accent out of the Southern or Western United States, accompanied by side banter, the usual Breitbart stuff, marching “Jews and queers” to the gas chambers and all about how “Hitler was right after all.” Hitler is a big hero to Trump followers, something I suspect might not make Hitler all that comfortable.
His studies in history and background in the media industry have given him a keen insight into the use of mass media as a creator of conflict in the modern world.
His favored areas of study include state-sponsored terrorism, media manufactured reality and the role of intelligence services in manipulation of populations and the perception of events.
