Saudi Arabia is the number one terrorist state, not Iran

Everybody knows, but pretends that they don’t

[ Editor’s Note: If Americans live in a free country, then why does its government, particularly is security agencies, lie to the public continually to cover up the extent of our direct and indirect support of terrorism where it suits some purpose it feels is justifiable?

I started out today with the new UN chief making a big splash over how Saudi Arabia has been a lead anti-terror advocate. This came the day after announcing he was considering Israel’s Mossadnik, Tizpi Livini, as his deputy UN chief, despite Israel’s continued defiance to all UN resolutions on Palestine, and despite its undeclared weapons of mass destruction programs and stockpiles.

Is this why this relatively unknown figure chosen to lead the UN… is it due to his being so controllable?

And then, over at the CIA we have new director Mike Pompeo giving Saudi Prince Nayef the “George Tenet award” for his contribution to the fight against terrorism, when Saudi intelligence has been up to its eyeballs in using terrorism for years, starting with Nasser against whom it was deployed in the 1960’s.

This ranks as one of the most well-known secrets, along with Israel’s “secret” weapons of mass destruction programs. But for doubters, we have the most recent proof provided by a long time Western insider, Zalmay Khalilzad, who has told of his recent trip to Saudi Arabia where its leaders admitted “We misled you”.

Is there some connection with Khalilzad’s story in September of 2016, and the wallpapering we are seeing the Saudis getting from the UN and CIA to cover this up? Khalilzad was not just given an admission, but told why.

“We did not own up to it after 9/11 because we feared you would abandon or treat us as the enemy,” the Saudi senior official conceded. “And we were in denial.”

So what is wrong here in America, land of the free and home of an alleged free press, when these outrageous falsehoods are handed to the public through one election season after another, like treasured family heirlooms. I have to say, it shows evidence of what can only be described as some kind of a mental illness, and this pains me to say soJim W. Dean ]

Donald Trump is proving himself a President prone to unleashing inconvenient truths side by side with blatant falsehoods. One of the most scurrilous of those falsehoods is his recent claim that Iran is the “number one terrorist state.”

Hiding in plain sight

Throughout his campaign for the White House in 2016, and since assuming office in January, Trump has made Iran the focus of his ire, to the point where the Iranians are more than justified in preparing for the very real prospect of military confrontation with the US – and sooner rather than later.

The Trump administration’s consistent and ongoing demonization of Iran flies in the face of reality in which Iran has stood, alongside Syria, Russia, the Kurds, and the Iranian-backed Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, as a pillar against the very same Salafi-jihadist terrorism that poses a threat to the American people.

It is a struggle in which the Iranians have expended both resources and blood in recent years, and as such justice demands that the world, including the United States, acknowledges that it owes Tehran a debt of gratitude.

In truth, and as most people are only too aware, the real number one terrorist state in the world today is not Iran it is Saudi Arabia, America’s friend, and ally. What is more, Washington has long been well aware of the fact.

In a September 2014 email from John Podesta to Hillary Clinton (one of the many among the batches of emails exchanged between John Podesta, chair of Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the White House, and Clinton that were released by Wikileaks) Podesta writes,

“While this military/para-military operation is moving forward, we need to use our diplomatic and more traditional intelligence assets to bring pressure on the governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which are providing clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIL and other radical Sunni groups in the region.”

Further evidence about the role of the Saudis and other Gulf States in actively and materially supporting terrorism is the 2015 sworn testimony of Zacarias Moussaoui, the so-called 20th 9/11 hijacker, claiming that members of the Saudi royal family had supported Al-Qaeda. As part of a civil case that was brought against the Saudis by the 9/11 families, Moussaoui went as far as naming the specific members of the Saudi royal family who had donated money to the terrorist group in the lead up to 9/11.

But even without any evidence of direct links between the Saudis and various Salafi-jihadist terrorist groups, the extreme Wahhabi interpretation of Sunni Islam embraced by the Saudis as a state religion is near indistinguishable from the ideology of ISIS or Nusra or any of those terror organizations.

Indeed the funding of mosques and Islamic centers by the Saudis across the world, places in which this extreme and perverse interpretation of Islam is preached, has become a source of mounting concern in recent years.

In 2015 the UK’s Independent newspaper carried a story claiming a leaked intelligence report compiled by Germany’s BfV domestic intelligence agency alleged the Saudis and other Gulf monarchies – the Qataris and Kuwaitis – were actively supporting extreme Islamic groups in Germany.

They are allegations that tally with those made by Donald Trump in an interview he conducted on NBC’s Meet The Press in August 2015. During the interview, NBC reporter Chuck Todd presented Mr. Trump with a 2011 statement he made regarding the Saudis, which reads, “It’s [Saudi Arabia’s] the world’s biggest funder of terrorism. Saudi Arabia funnels our petrodollars, our very own money, to fund the terrorists that seek to destroy our people while the Saudis rely on us to protect them.”

The barbarity and mendacity of the Saudis are beyond doubt. When they aren’t terrorizing and butchering their own people at home, they are engaged in despicable war crimes in Yemen – war crimes in which the US and UK are complicit.

So why in the face of all the evidence and acquired knowledge when it comes to Saudi Arabia’s role in supporting terrorism and fomenting extremism, does the US continue to count Riyadh as its closest and most valued ally in the region after Israel? The simple answer is commerce.

Saudi Arabia is the US defense industry’s biggest customer, a mantle that Donald Trump intends to maintain with his recent decision to lift the ban that was imposed by Obama on further arms sales to the Kingdom over its human rights violations in Yemen.

It is also significant that while Iran is one of the seven predominately Muslim countries placed on the Trump administration travel ban list, neither Saudi Arabia nor any of the other Gulf States has been put on it. This alone proves that the President is not as serious about fighting terrorism than he likes to make out.

Iran, to repeat, is not a state that sponsors, funds, or foments terrorism, while Saudi Arabia is. The mere fact that this needs to be pointed out to the President is redolent of a view of the world from the Oval Office that continues to be upside down.

  1. Edward, The OT mentioning its not to discredit its value, only that evangelists place too much emphasis on Biblical Israeli- centered superiority when preaching, and only from “selected” Scripture chapters and leave the least to the Gosspels. and that leads to biasing the worshippers who becomes irated, goes to the shooting range, wants to kill all muslims but when the time comes to volunteer, you can only find mosty minority extraction among the Armed Services. Yes, you have fat Blackwater-Academi mercenaries, but never at the frontline, perhaps, to put it benigly , not due to lack of courage but to overweight, no feats among them, only able to knock down foreign civilians when cleared and amply covered by Army units, succintly, a position for shooting rangers that can save some dough to change the SUV. In any case, Boers put a good fight for a better cause.

  2. Like mr. Slavoj Zizek said the new axis of evil are Saudi Arabia, Israel and Turkey. Probably under a watchful eye of the globalist north atlantic elites and capital. Plus only USA are allowed to use nuclear weapons and glorify their death tolls. One cannot be rational and at the same time support the US foreign policy. Enemizing, looting and then bomb taming, that is like you are trying to support your friend who is about to enter a cage with starved roaring wild cats and poke them trying to steal their meal. You have to be either a psycopath or a heavily sedated or stone drunk, or braindamaged and souldamaged by the dollars coming from your sponsors. People can respect USA for their achievements in technology or science but from that point on maximizing the war industry the USA are on their own vile path. Nobody can destroy them but themselves but also nobody can save them from themselves.

  3. Hi Edward. The average American is not to be find it in either the East or the West Coast, people in those places are slightly inclined to mistrust media, not so those living behind the Appalchians to the Rocky Mountains and from the South to the Big Lakes, who epitomize the classic media worshipper, reveres Old Testament and Little Christ evangelists preaching support to Israel (under his wife’s command) waits for prime time series, happy at the shooting range, Budweisered from monday till saturday, and enjoying Sunday’s mama’s pie and : of course, when hearing the other bell, still think that you are a “communist”, worst if you don’t like his favorite pizza topping and finally, only cares for the oficial 9/11 fairytale otherwise, you’re a terrorist. A good VT illustrating campaign could do wanders to awake those very widespread stereotyped ones into the causes shattering the American dream.

  4. The first cartoon (top on page) is exactly as the American mind likes to view the current situation.
Saudi Arabia owns and steers the coach driven by Muslim terrorists. US is just a (innocent??) passenger without any control of destination.
Come on, do you really still believe USA and its population are a victim in this part of world history?
Looking at USA, Hollywood and their mostly American/Jewish superheroes all stand in a strong opposing direction to any similar situation in their block buster movies especially when the stars and stripes are in danger of being stripped of their rights/values or is harmed by bad guys/terrorists.
Observing today’s USA and the world I can not grasp US being projected an innocent victim that is driven around by Saudi Arabia without any directions. This even sounds to fake to be fake news.
A divided nation is easy to be controlled. White, Black, Jewish, Muslim, Democrat, Republican are just 6 simple words which have the power creating a conflict in certain places.
Diversity is necessary and once humanity has grasped this through education of truth and not propaganda it will have reached an epoch of peace, compassion and love.
Until then we will get bombarded further with lament, hatred, false flag events, wars and propaganda.

    • Edward, the Donald will get some more direct orders during the meeting with his favorite man Bibi on the 15th.
Here is what “The Hill” in DC expects from this encounter:
“In this first visit, it is important for the two men to develop a rapport, but also to speak candidly about the common enemies facing Israel and the United States as well as the opportunities for greater cooperation.
The No. 1 item on the agenda should be Iran.”
So it is all clear, nothing has changed since the “Oligarch gang” took over the land of the free. Now let’s look forward to some greater cooperation between the two nations. Please excuse the sarcasm.

    • Sure Edward, Nethanyahu is currently struggling. So is the new President of US already.
Does that change anything in global politics if one “clone” is exchanged for another in a voting democracy? Don’t think so!

  5. “relatively unknown figure to lead the UN” and Livini, as deputy UN chief, proves it’s running foul and shape shifting ….” …dont miss this fact a day earlier
The UN will go under, with these divisive moves there is no United and the nations will abandon this organization organized by, for and through manipulative malevolent minds….NAM must open its doors, restructure, be prepared as nations jump ship to a whole new model based on mutual respect and genuine co-operation to lift one another up, sovereignty without malignant interference…we are down to the wire

  6. When USA are losing an international dispute or an argument they resort to lies, bombs, assassinations and history altercation, but even all that couldn’t help the petrodollar causes in Syria. The intellectual elites of the West however cannot be fooled by hoaxes and false flags, they know who the biggest sponsor of terrorism is and Iran is miles from it. The trouble is these intellectual elites can sometimes be bought by some egoistical accolades like doctorates and Nobels. All those think tank personnel know very well who is sponsoring terrorism but wash their hands from it, pull a blind eye, or blame the personal morals and principles of international leaders, as long as the defense=offense money is pouring in and the idiots keep killing each other.
