Trump’s racist hate speech incites murder

[Editor’s note: I wrote more than once about the dangers of allowing Trump’s racist hate speech to go unpunished, of not countering and dealing with the blatant racism of his campaign. You see, admit it or not, there are a hell of a lot of downright dumb, ignorant, racist and dangerous people in the USA, particularly in the middle bit, away from the relatively cosmopolitan and worldly-wise coasts.

You can blame the bad education system, the geographic isolation, the ignorance of the world outside the USA, the terribly prejudiced and false world views shown on the TV and in movies, the conniving preachers of the utterly corrupt Christian churches and a hell of a lot of other causes as well.

Then there are the insane gun laws – let morons carry guns and they will shoot people with them from time to time, and much of the time the people they shoot will be innocent or doing anything other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I remain convinced that no truly civilised society can allow the type of gun ownership that exists in the US.

However, the overriding point I take from this tragedy is that Trump is guilty of causing these murders in the exact same way Hitler was guilty of causing the murder of Jews – no-one has ever found a written order from Hitler to kill Jews, but all the hateful speeches and anti-Jewish rhetoric was a direct cause of the murders of Jews. The exact same relationship applies to Trump’s hate speech and the  brutal murder of two innocent Indian engineers by a dumbfu$k racist white scumbag.

Missouri practices the death penalty by lethal injection, so Adam Purinton will likely pay the price for his actions.

Sadly, Trump will most likely not suffer any consequences, but in my eyes, he is guilty of inciting this awful crime.

Even worse, I doubt his hate speeches will stop and we will see more and more of these racially motivated murders, the killers egged on by a fat, orange bloviating  windbag with tiny childlike hands and a ludicrous haircut. A clown who is making the USA a pariah state that the rest of the world is starting to wish would just curl up and die quietly. Ian]

Major Support For Indian American Killed in Trump-Linked Attack

The family of the Indian American who was shot and killed Wednesday in a hate crime which has been linked to the rhetoric of U.S. President Donald Trump has received overwhelming levels of support, after a friend created a GoFundMe campaign to rally behind the family.

Alok Madasani and Srinivas Kuchibhotla, 32, were enjoying a casual drink after a long day’s work in a Kansas City Austins Bar and Grill, when 51-year-old navy veteran Adam Purinton is reported to have racially abused the pair.

After Purinton was asked to leave the bar by the manager, he is reported to have returned, yelling “get out of my country” before opening fire on the pair, killing Kuchibhotla and seriously wounding Madasani. Another man, Ian Grillot, was also hospitalized after intervening to help the two.

Since the tragedy, the GoFundMe campaign, which describes Kuchibhotla as the “kindest person you would meet,” has received nearly 15,000 donations, raising a staggering US$576,073 since it was set-up on Thursday. The campaign will provide support to the family in covering funeral costs and other expenses.

The shooting that occurred Wednesday night made national headlines in India, drawing widespread criticism from the Indian government and civilians alike. Outraged at the incident, people took to social media to condemn U.S. President Donald Trump’s “America First” policy on immigration and jobs, arguing it has fueled a climate of intolerance.

Madasani’s father, Jaganmohan Reddy, said he had urged his son to return home to India in the months prior to the shooting.

“The situation seems to be pretty bad after Trump took over as the U.S. president. I appeal to all the parents in India not to send their children to the United States in the present circumstances,” he told the Hindustan Times.

The widow of the deceased, Sunayana Dumala, told the New York Times that she had long been worried about similar shootings she had read about in the newspaper.

“I was always concerned, are we doing the right thing of staying in the United States of America?” she said. “But he always assured me that only good things happen to good people.”

She is now demanding answers from the U.S. government. “What are they going to do to stop this hate crime?” she asked the Kansas City Star.

Just 10 days into Trump’s presidency, the Southern Poverty Law Center recorded a surge in hate crimes across the country. Among the many types recorded, the center lists “anti-immigrant” as the top motivation for committing a hate crime. The number of hate groups operating in the country also rose to near-historic highs in 2016, a phenomenon the center attributes to Trump’s election.

But the White House has played down any link between Trump’s rhetoric and far-right violence on the streets, with Trump spokesperson Sean Spicer branding the link in relation to Wednesday’s shooting “absurd.”

Meanwhile, the Indian embassy’s spokesperson in Washington has expressed “deep concern over the incident” while urging the U.S. government to push ahead with a “thorough and speedy investigation.”

  1. This is as bad as it gets. Spurred on by a mentally ill tyrant in the White House who is filled with himself.
I hope the person who did this is found guilty and punished.
Now……as for your remarks about gun ownership in America, you are entirely wrong. We have a Second Amendment for the purposes of defense in the from of a militia and to protect ourselves from the government. That is, when the time comes to remove those in power in Washington, we will have the moral authority and an armed militia to do so.
Just read a few quotes from Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams and other of our founding fathers why we have the Second Amendment and why you don’t.
So tell me about your cesspool of a government in merrie olde England. The royals, the entire lot of which you can do nothing about.
At least here, we have the right to protect ourselves, our homes and families, especially against the criminals who invade people’s homes.

  2. A very sad story of a beautiful couple from India, killed in the prime of life by Yank bigotry & violence … May Srinivas & Sunayana have peace in paradise amidst their Hindu ancestors

Bigots need to face now, that the fellow Hindu of this murdered couple, US Iraq veteran & part-Samoan-heritage Congress-woman Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, may well be the USA President after winning the 2020 USA election

  3. I have a number of friends from India both in the fields of physics and business. All are highly intelligent and law abiding citizens of the highest order. This crime is totally disgraceful especially if a former Veteran did it.

Ian, this is off topic but could you comment on the current crimes in London of illegal mass dumping on farmland to get rid of toxic waste? I am surprised it has not started here in the U.S except that we are allowed to have guns which could act as a deterrent . Here is the link to the article:

    • Thanks for the tip, I haven’t heard about this dumping but I’ll look into it. You can look on youtube at some of the documentaries about what has been done to the countryside of Southern Italy by the illegal dumping operations of the mafia and cammorra, it is so bad there that the environment has been ruined and the clean-up, if there ever is one, will take generations.
