Pence to Go before Trump: Nixon-Agnew/Watergate Déjà Vu?

FILE - In this Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 file photo, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence announces that the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services has approved the state's waiver request for the plan his administration calls HIP 2.0, during a speech in Indianapolis. Pence said Wednesday that he regrets the "confusion" caused by a memo about a planned state-run news website and will scrap the project if it doesn't "respect the role of a free and independent press." [Editor’s note: When Pence did his voter threatening antics, he thought the election was hopeless.

He was stupid, careless and had no idea that he would be all that stood between Trump and impeachment with a huge target on his forehead.

Where Dick Cheney was a strong leader, though reviled throughout Washington, Pence is a small time player, inexperienced, out of his depth, a laughing stock. G]

Like the process in which Vice President Spiro T. Agnew was investigated for and charged with multiple crimes, pled guilty and resigned as Vice President, Trump’s Vice President Mike Pence is facing a similar fate.

Trump’s former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn now seeks immunity from prosecution in exchange for his testimony against President Donald J. Trump and Trump’s associates.

“Mike Pence is seeking an immunity arrangement like what Mike Flynn is seeking. Nixon-Agnew/Watergate déjà vu all over again?

Nixon-Agnew/Watergate déjà vu all over again – with Trump-Pence/Russia?

The FBI nailed Chicago mobster Al Capone for unpaid taxes rather than any of the countless murders for which he was responsible. Republican efforts to remove Trump are first targeting the low hanging fruit: Flynn & Pence. Democrats will surely join.

Few if any now in the mainstream media can do the type of investigative reporting required to report on the Watergate-level crimes of the Trump White House. A long time ago, the 6 corporations that control 95% of mainstream media jettisoned their investigative reporters. Regardless, with global intelligence gathering capabilities, VT is ready, willing and able to do this work.

Trump’s long association with Russian, Israeli and U.S. criminal oligarchs enabled the Trump-Pence election in 2016 (along with their connections inside U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies). Today’s MSM will not touch these issues, because the Kosher Nostra is more powerful and influential than the Italian Cosa Nostra (mafia) ever was.

Nixon VP Agnew pled guilty to a single crime in 1973. Nixon nominated a consensus candidate to be his new vice president, Congressman Gerald Ford. Although Republicans control both houses of Congress, if Pence resigns before Trump, then Republicans and Democrats would first need to agree on a new vice president.

As per U.S. Constitution, Section 2 of 25th Amendment: “Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.”

Facing virtually certain impeachment and removal by Congress, Richard M. Nixon resigned as President in 1974. President Donald J. Trump may be facing a similar fate.

“Richard Nixon’s former White House Counsel John Dean says that the Trump White House is now in “Cover-Up Mode” – like Nixon/Agnew and Watergate in 1973.

Some of the crimes for which Trump Vice President Mike Pence is still being investigated are violations of the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act. As Indiana Governor, Mike Pence brazenly used the Indiana State Police and others to suppress and disenfranchise more than 45,000 African-American voters.

As per investigative reporter Greg Palast and others, Republicans suppressed and disenfranchised minority voters across America. If spread across the states that provided Trump and Pence with their victory in the Electoral College (despite losing the popular vote), Mike Pence’s single-handed suppression and disenfranchisement of 45,000 minority voters would be almost enough to shift the results of the 2016 elections.

Pence allies seek to Rig 2016 Elections in Hoosier State

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Today is the last day to register to vote in Indiana. It is also seven days since Indiana Governor Mike Pence’s State Police raided the largest voter-registration program in the state. The registrations targeted for suppression by Pence’s state police are over-whelmingly African Americans.

In its raid, the Indiana State Police shut down a voter-registration program that was helping to register 10-of-thousands of law-abiding African Americans in Indiana. Registration of African Americans is opposed by many Indiana Republican leaders because they believe that these Hoosiers will not support GOP candidates. The State Police, in addition to crippling this program in the final week of Indiana’s registration period, violated numerous legal standards and Constitutional protections, including (but not limited to) the rights of registration workers to legal representation when they were detained by police.

All five of the individuals leading this voter-suppression campaign are either Pence appointees, Pence allies or active Republicans. The use of police force and intimidation to rig the 2016 elections and prevent minority voters from taking part in this November’s elections are currently unprecedented in the United States.

  1. Republican Secretary of State Connie Lawson, the author of Indiana’s notorious voter-ID law and longtime leader of the partisan effort to deny tens-of-thousands of law-abiding Hoosiers their right to vote. Lawson was the state’s chief elections officer in 2014, when Indiana had the lowest voter turnout in the nation and its own worst turnout in 60 years. Lawson has also refused to release public records relating to political role in targeting registration of African Americans in her state.
  2. State Police Superintendent, Douglas G. Carter, who was sworn in on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, after being “chosen for the position by new Indiana Gov. Mike Pence,” according to an ISP news release (http://whatsnewlaporte.com/2013/01/14/laporte-native-douglas-carter-takes-helmas-indiana-state-police-superintendent/). Carter is a registered Republican who votes in Republican primaries.
  3. “Investigator” William Stoney Vann, a state police sergeant and Republican candidate for local sheriff, who has actively harassed African American canvassers engaged in the group’s nonpartisan voter drive. Vann is also a Facebook friend of Republican Connie Lawson, one of the party leaders behind the police suppression of African American voters. Vann votes in Republican primaries.
  4. “Investigator” Jeffrey C. Hearon, a registered Republican who lives in Danville, Hendricks County, Indiana, the same small town where Republican Lawson lives. Danville has a population of only 9,000. Hearon votes in Republican primaries.
  5. State Police spokes-person David R. Bursten, a registered Republican and Pence supporter, who has been the public face of this week’s partisan and unlawful raid designed to make it harder for African Americans to vote. Bursten is a repeat donor to Mike Pence’s political campaigns.

Attorneys for the Indiana Voter Registration Project (the “Project”), a non-partisan program run by Patriot Majority USA, have formally requested that the Voting Section of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division initiate an investigation into efforts by public officials of the State of Indiana to suppress tens of thousands of African American votes.

  1. Alan: If you need “hard evidence,” ask Mike Pence. He probably took those 45,000 voter registration papers to Washington. ;–). If you just need additional national & Indiana state articles about what Pence did, then Google >”Mike Pence” “Indiana State Police” voter registration<. +/-5,000 articles.

  2. If the cops try to pull over the clown bus, bodies will be thrown out the back door to slow them down. Never has there been a more blatant looting on behalf of the executive branch. The entire group is useless to the American people. Voting has never been fair at the national level. And when was the last time the most Democratic country had a referendum ?

    • David: US Constitution doesn’t permit national referenda. Friend Mike Gravel says that it should.

Many/Most Western states allow referenda. For decades, elections are not fair at any level.

Examine original +/-1776 ‘constitution’ — before the 1789 U.S. Constitution — which we still have.

Who hijacked the American Revolution (and Russian Revolution, and Iranian Revolution, etc.)?

  3. It’s fascinating how this voter registration outfit has omitted many of the things they did, and twisted the facts. The problem that I see with them, has nothing to do with black voters, but with the OTHER stuff they were doing. I used to live in Indiana, and still make many trips back and forth to see friends and family. And I read ALL the political papers in Indiana during elections. Here’s an clue for you guys. A respected journalist whistleblower (gay) was murdered on the eve of the Indiana election. Check out that lead, follow it, and see where it takes you. Tip: it won’t lead to Pence.

    • For those who are too lazy to check it, the guy’s name was Gary Welsh, lawyer addicted to politics. He was murdered just before the Indiana primary. It was immediately ruled a suicide. But here’s the thing… Political animals don’t commit suicide on the eve of an election they are looking forward to winning. Maybe after the election, depending on results, but not before.

  4. Funny, Indiana residents didn’t see this happening. But then again, I guess you were not in Indiana to report it to the citizens of Indiana.

    • Toby: The 45,000+ African-Americans in Indiana who could not vote when Indiana Governor and Trump VP candidate Mike Pence ordered his Indiana State Police to seize their voter registrations DID see it.

Are you African-American? Do you live in Indiana? Did you see ANY of the many Indiana articles about this stupid stuff (which is also very illegal)? If not, is your name “Pence”? ;-).

  5. “At this point in time to the best of my recollection I can’t recall”.
Sounds good to me. I think I’ll copy write it and get rich over the next 6 months.

  6. Trump has risen to the level of his incompetence. Trump is the very personification of the Peter Principle.

When the Nixon/Watergate fan first began to hit the sheep in 1973, Republicans defended Nixon. Facing certain losses in the Congressional elections, Republicans turned against Nixon in 1974.

Most Republithugs & Dummycrooks are familiar with this Nixon/Watergate history. Those Americans who do not know this history may be destined to repeat it. Or maybe not… ;-).
