Russia: Trump Lied, US Planned Missile Attack Before Idlib, US Planes Banned From Syria Air Space

Russia suspends flight safety memorandum over Syria after US missile strike – Foreign Ministry

Russia has suspended the memorandum of understanding on flight safety in Syria with the United States amid the US missile strike on Syria’s Shayrat military airfield, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement.

“Without bothering to investigate anything, the US went forward with a demonstration of force, a military confrontation with a country that is fighting international terrorism,” the Foreign Ministry’s statement reads.

The US launched some 60 Tomahawk missiles at the Syrian military airbase in the Homs governorate early on Friday. The attack came after US President Donald Trump pinned the blame for an alleged chemical attack in Idlib on Syria’s government.

“Obviously, the cruise missile attack was prepared beforehand. Any expert can tell that the decision to strike was made in Washington before the events in Idlib, which were used as a pretext for a demonstration,” the statement reads.

The Memorandum on air safety was signed in October 2015, after Russia came to Syria to fight international terrorism at the invitation of the country’s government. The document of understanding was designed to prevent possible mishaps between the Russian and US Air Forces operating independently in the region.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry has condemned the attack as an example of the “reckless attitude” that has only worsened “existing world issues” and created a “threat to international security.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry firmly dismissed any allegations of chemical weapons use by the Syrian military, saying Syria’s government does not possess any such weapons. This was confirmed by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

The OPCW has “inspected virtually all the objects in Syria which were connected, or could be connected, to the country’s chemical warfare program.”

The incident in Idlib was a result of an air raid by Syrian forces, which hit a facility where terrorists produced chemical filled shells for usage in Syria and Iraq, Moscow believes.

“The US pretends it doesn’t get obvious things. It turned a blind eye on terrorist usage of chemical weapons in Iraq, which Baghdad officially reported. It dismissed documented cases of terrorist chemical warfare usage in Aleppo. All this does is abet international terrorism and bolster it,” the statement reads, adding that new terrorist attacks “with weapons of mass destruction” are now to be expected.

The US missile attack in Syria reminded Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov of the 2003 Iraq invasion by the US, the minister said during a press conference after the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) meeting.

“This reminds us of the 2003 situation, when the US and the UK, along with their allies, intervened in Iraq without approval from the UN Security Council, which was a blatant breach of international law,” Lavrov said.

The US rushed to pin the blame for the chemical warfare incident in Iblib on Syria’s government, but did not bother to provide any evidence for such claims, Lavrov said.

“Which brings us back to the thought that Al-Nusra Front is regarded by the West as an organization that should be preserved,” he stressed.

  1. Khaled Hussein. If that’s your real name, you could be an ISIS beheading. abettor if not, another mossad troll unmasking himself. As you compare, Israel all its doing in GAZA deserves to be encouraged and healthful to Palestinians. VT is giving you the possibilty to express yourself with saneness but you seem to be Talmud genetically intoxicated.

  2. War war and more war. There is no end to this madness. It is criminal that so many average people buy into the media’s garbage. People really are not informed about anything other than entertainment, trivial child like things that keep adults in the mentality stages of children.

It is blatantly obvious there was no chemical attack by Assad. It’s a form of torture for me to sit through a news cycle and listening to reports and “experts” talk about what a horrible monster this soft spoken blue eyed eye surgeon is from Syria.

The fools and gullible will always be fooled all of the time. They make the work of the International psychopaths way too easy

  3. Trump is a disaster. He’s gone way too far and it took him only a few weeks to break his campaign promises that got him elected in the first place. It’s a shame but not unexpected.

Let me remind you that the alternative was Hillary Clinton, who was openly calling for the same actions that Trump just executed. She still is calling for No Fly Zones in Syria. What does that mean? Well the NFZ in Libya was a bombing campaign against Gadaffi. I don’t see any different outcome if the US set up a NFZ in Syria.

This should make it clear to all, that there was no “choice” in the US election. It was coke and pepsi. Trump just lied about his intentions, probably worse. AT least Hillary was openly calling for supporting ISIS and Israel.

  4. Regarding US presidents, it seems the 21st century is turning into the century of the American idiot.

And unfortunately, you will probably get everything you deserve.

And what’s sadder, is that nobody in the rest of the world will give a shit

  5. Trump evidently idolizes Confederate War General Sherman who criminally and illegally raped and plundered the South with totally unauthorized force against civilians. He wants to be in history books but he evidently can’t even read or think himself. His is a moron worse than Bush. Note how this is a distraction from the rape charges against him and Epstein and many other current issues. He is already guilty of killing children in Yemen the other day and bombing the downed Osprey with dead bodies in it but is still on the loose. Trump is an international war criminal and outlaw. If you see him on the street get as far away as you can because he might pull out a gun and shoot like he did in Syria without asking any questions. This is democracy in action.

    • Every member of our military, blindly following orders like dupes without a brain, from the top on down, who aid and abet the crimes and illegal orders of dumb mentally impaired arrogant egotistical Trump, are just as guilty as he is of war crimes against humanity.

    • JohnZ: You are absolutely correct. I did not mean to imply Sherman was a Southern General but that is how it came out. I should have said Civil War. or War between the States. Thanks for the correction. Both psychopath Sherman and drunk Grant were war criminals.

    • In a letter to Grant, Sherman stated that is they lost the war they would be hanged for what they had done. It is not an item included in highschool or even college level text books. You have to get to the graduate level before you start seeing the real stuff…like how “liberated” slaves were legally classified as contraband, enemy property, that could be put to use in the war effort at the pleasure of the field cmdr. Moral Yankee officers wrote blistering reports of the abuses they saw to the War Dept, which ignored them all. But all of this material has been in the “Official Records” since they were set up, but for people outside the South they might as well had been classified.
