Our staff says "NO"

Reports have been coming out of Damascus that former Syrian Minister of Justice, Najm Hamad al-Ahmad was arrested while boarding a plane to flee Syria.  Our people in Damascus say this is untrue.  In response, we are sending a team to his home.  If we find him there, we will interview him and get some photos.  We will see.

The Justice Minister is a very competent & very honorable government official. The rumors are false — more than just “almost undoubtedly false.”

I look forward to the upcoming VT interview with Syrian Minister of Justice Najm Hamad al-Ahmad.

In the interim, you can listen to VT Finance Editor Mike Harris’ interview with VT Damascus Bureau Chief Nahed al-Husaini and the Justice Minister at http://www.VeteransTodayLive.com.
