Jimmy Carter: US is more an “oligarchy than a democracy”

Every serious politician knows that Israel is an apartheid state, but do they have the courage to say it like Jimmy Carter does?

…by Jonas E. Alexis

Jimmy Carter has recently fleshed out his indictment on US politicians by saying that they have made the country more an “oligarchy than a democracy,” and that is not a good direction. How should we move forward?

Carter said: “Keep the peace, promote human rights and tell the truth.”[1] That indeed is an implicit attack on the Israeli regime and its pawn known as the United States of America. The regime in Tel Aviv and its puppets in the West don’t want peace precisely because peace invariably or logically implies a moral or political law which allows opposing parties to come to a reasonable solution. For them, peace is a frightening thing.

Instead, the regime and its puppets want bloodshed; they want to destroy lives, livelihood, and nations at any cost. This is one reason why Carter said in his 2006 book Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid:

“Israel’s continued control and colonization of Palestinian land have been the primary obstacles to a comprehensive peace agreement in the Holy Land.”

Throughout his book, Carter condemned the regime for establishing “a system of apartheid, with two peoples occupying the same land, but completely separated from each other, with Israelis totally dominant and suppressing violence by depriving Palestinians of their basic human rights.”

This is again true, and these facts, said Carter,

“are largely unknown in America… For the last 30 years, I have witnessed and experienced the severe restraints on any free and balanced discussion of the facts. This reluctance to criticize any policies of the Israeli government is because of the extraordinary lobbying efforts of the American-Israel Political Action Committee and the absence of any significant contrary voices.”[2]

Carter knows that Israel controls the Congress of the United States, and Congress has no intention of challenging the Israeli regime to abide by international law. Carter’s forceful and cogent attack against the regime and its media in the United States is quite stunning:

“It would be almost politically suicidal for members of Congress to espouse a balanced position between Israel and Palestine, to suggest that Israel comply with international law or to speak in defense of justice or human rights for Palestinians. Very few would ever deign to visit the Palestinian cities of Ramallah, Nablus, Hebron, Gaza City or even Bethlehem and talk to the beleaguered residents.

“What is even more difficult to comprehend is why the editorial pages of the major newspapers and magazines in the United States exercise similar self-restraint, quite contrary to private assessments expressed quite forcefully by their correspondents in the Holy Land.”[3]

As far as I know, no US president has ever had the moral and intellectual courage to confront the regime in Tel Aviv like Carter. This is one reason why he has been called an anti-Semite in some quarters.[4]

Thought police Deborah Lipstadt says that Carter has a “Jewish problem.”[5] Carter, argues Lipstadt perversely, “has relied on anti-Semitic stereotypes in defense.”[6] According to Alan Deshowitz, Carter had “an unredeemable anti-Semite and all-around bigot” as a friend,[7] therefore that seems to make him an “unredeemable anti-Semite” as well.

These people obviously do not want to deal with facts. They want to defend Israel’s colonization because they think that bringing up crazy charges will somehow diffuse constructive criticism about Israel. How else would Israel be allowed to attack Syria on false pretense? How else would the Pentagon summon crazy ideas in order to continue their support for the so-called Syrian rebels? How else would the United States continue to ask for regime change in Syria? US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said at a White House briefing last Friday:

“We’re not going to be satisfied until we see a strong and stable Syria. And that is not with Assad in place.”[8]

Keeping peace also entails having frank dialogue with nations that have opposing views. The Israeli regime does not want that. They want to use the media to denounce any country they do not like as “state-sponsored terrorism.” Benjamin Netanyahu is a classic example. Back in 2015, he told Congress:

“Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei spews the oldest hatred, the oldest hatred of anti-Semitism with the newest technology. He tweets that Israel must be annihilated — he tweets. You know, in Iran, there isn’t exactly free Internet. But he tweets in English that Israel must be destroyed.”[9]

We can ignore this mad man here.

How would Carter deal with Kim Jung-un? “I would send my top person to Pyongyang immediately, if I didn’t go myself,” he said. “Until we talk to them and treat them with respect – as human beings, which they are – I don’t think we’re going to make any progress.”[10]

That’s the spirit. And this again is a pointed rebuke to the Neoconservatives and pawns like Nikki Haley, who still think that threats are the way to achieve peaceful resolutions. The Weekly Standard has published an article by Dan Blumenthal just a few days ago entitled: “Kim Jong-un Must Go. It’s Time For A Korean Democratic Unification.”[11]

Democratic unification? Did that work in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria? When was the last time that the Neocons ever actualized their dream of paradise—in the name of “democracy” and “freedom”?

With respect to the Israeli/Palestine conflict, Trump, said Carter, has been a disaster. He is “practically hopeless. I don’t think Trump or his family members are making any process in that respect.”[12] Benjamin Netanyahu, said Carter, has “no intention at all of having a two-state solution.”[13]

This is indeed true. This is one reason why he is supporting any terrorist group that seeks to destroy his opponent. How else was Israel able to support ISIS in Syria?

  1. The fact that the US now has a military base inside Israel demonstrates how far our military has descended into corruption, criminality and, as far as defending basic American ideals or moral principles is concerned, has descended into total uselessness. Consorting with the enemy doesn’t even begin to describe the new and enhanced US military relationship to Israel.. Next, we will learn, the Pentagon has decided to move to tel a vive to better represent and actualize its true purpose: defending Israel’s expansionists objectives. This it will do at the expense of all Americans. The boot of Carter’s Oligarchy is the growing, the almost omnipresent influence of Israel driven military factors in our government and decision making. The American people are confronted not so much with oligarchical rule but military dictatorship. It is imminent!

  2. Believe it or not, there are some in Georgia that know what’s happening. Recently, there were demonstrations against the Mayor of Atlanta sending police to Israel for training. The mayor responded that he saw no reason to quit the program of having their police trained by the foremost fighters against ‘terrorism’ and that he intended to continue the practice. Which, I suppose means that he views Georgians as terrorists. If this man is reelected, that will mean the ‘press’ is doing there job well…it will also mean that either the majority in Georgia are completely brainwashed or the voting system is compromised or both.

    • Everything is done in Israel. Politicians of any country of “importance”, security personal, journalists, any foreign person of “authority” is schooled, trained and bought or blackmailed in ISrael.
An all inclusive luxury brainwashing trip to Jerusalem, one of the most favourite paid holidays of Australian politicians.
Would be very interesting to see a published list of all American or international politicians or military personal having “holidayed” Israel on at least one occasions. You’ll be very surprised of the outcome!

  3. The false hope of saviorism is at an end. People must be forthright and confront the leaders. Go to town halls and speak. Israel and Britain are not our friends. Fantasy about this must end. The pretend game we see on television must be ignored. Be real. Observe the actions and do not listen. Do not aspire to be a good listener, but instead aspire to be a good observer.

    • There are NO leader in town halls David. They are low cast puppets who only rise through influence of their players and not the dumbed down public. Politicians are worse then prostitutes and lawyers together. They are pawns easily discarded when becoming uncomfortable and truthful. Civil disobedience will be the only language they and politics might comprehend. Politicians do not care about their country or citizens. A filled wallet and fame is important not these unprivileged citizens who voted for them and ask uncomfortable questions.
Andrew, I love your Russian quote about the poms!!!!

    • Eduardo, work with what we have, call them your servants if that makes you more comfortable, but they get a paycheck for a job. We are their bosses. As the bosses, we have to attend the meetings.
Start with the zoning boards, those are the ones looking to squeeze in edgewise, and that is why they bow to any corporation to get a leg up. Accountability works 2 ways. Civil disobedience works for movements , but the core needs to be disturbed in person.

    • David, living in a part of the colony Australia where anti Semitism equals anti Australian it will not be easy to argue certain matters. Having a “German” accent is also a bonus ticket being declared Nazi straight from the beginning. A multicultural society at its best where nearly all MP’s have had all inclusive holidays in Israel for “education”. I will not last too long commenting on anything that will be labelled “anti Australian”.
The core of Australian politics is in London or Jerusalem. There are the bosses who run these little political Australian colonist pawns without influence.

  4. I am very reliably informed from within the New Zealand Military that the United Nations is a Corrupt Organisation. Sikkhi Halevy, the entity known as Nikki Haley, represents two cultic streams of thought that are self serving, insular and disconnected from wider humanity. Unfortunately the General Populace of the USA has been so confused by the “Education” System as to be unable to distinguish Fact from Fiction. Fake News has become The Mainstream and the US Government is Legislating to keep it that way. One cannot make this shiite up.

  5. The Federal Reserve punished President Carter with High interest rates and high inflation. He dared oppose the KM by attempting to negociate a peaceful solution to the Palestinian Crisis. President Carter brought the interested parties to the Aspen Institute on the Wye River here in Maryland. The Uof Md leases land there for agricultural research so I got to tour the facilities while working for the renouned soybean breeder Dr. Kenworthy. All negociations were just a waste of time as Israel reniged on every concession that they made during the famous peace talks. JFK and Jimmy Carter are our last two great Presidents.

  6. Dershowitz has been known to hang out with a convicted pedophile, Epstein, Guess that makes Dersh a pedophile, too, using his own guilt by association logic.

Last May, the US House of Representatives for Israel passed H.R. 672, the “Combating European Anti-Semitism Act of 2017”, a bill which can be read here (it’s relatively brief): https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/672/text?q=%7B%22search%22%3A%5B%22H.R.+672%22%5D%7D&r=1

This bill requires the US State Dept. to create monitors of anti-semitism in Europe. It is just one of many, many bills concerning Israel (some written by AIPAC), under consideration during the current session. Why, it’s almost as if…best not say that, it may soon be monitored. Read this bill to find out one small piece of what Congress is doing while allegedly representing US interests!

Yeah, it’s big oligarchic club, and we ain’t in it (with apologies to the late George Carlin).

  7. The only disappointment of this article is the question of who did 9/11/01 and what is Carter’s opinion that Israel did it and has not been brought to justice? Jimmy Carter is frankly the best and most honorable president since WWII but he is vilified even by many brainwashed Georgians who are brainwashed by the lying media. The anti Semitism card is always played by Israel when they can’t win an argument with logic. There is a mountain of evidence that Israel did 9/11. Read this powerful article:
    https://wikispooks.com/wiki/9-11/Israel_did_it
There are many others as well. Justice delayed is Justice denied. Israel is the enemy of the U.S. and everything our Constitution represents. Israel is the enemy of the world too. We do not need another fake fraudulent investigation of 9/11. Investigators have already found the truth. Someone in America must arrest the perps beginning with Bush and Cheney and the four star generals and all those mostly dual citizens of Israel who planned and carried out this massive con on America. The longer we wait the harder it will be. Justice delayed is Justice Denied. Americans need to wake up from their stupor.
