Oliver Stone: Vladimir Putin Is Rational

Oliver Stone: “If I can give you an overall opinion of Mr. Putin, he's the ultimate negotiator; he will wear you out. He really believes in talking out everything. There are certain points of interest, every country has its national interests, and he constantly harks on this. Russia has its national interests. And he's open to negotiating anything but those national interests, and when you cross the line, he will let you know."

Anyone who has watched Vladimir Putin’s speeches, dialogues and interactions over the past six years or so must admit that he is a force to be reckoned with. New World Order agents know this.

That’s why New World Order agent Lee Smith of the Neocon flagship the Weekly Standard can write things like “Putin is the new sheriff in town.”[1] Shmuel Rosner of the New York Times said basically the same thing last year, that “Israel Knows That Putin Is the Middle East’s New Sheriff.”[2]

Granted, Putin does have his flaws, as all politicians do. But when it comes to dealing with the blatant inconsistencies and irrationalities of US foreign policy, Putin is unparalleled.

Oliver Stone discovered the same thing. That’s one reason why he wanted to interview Putin. Stone’s documentary on Putin, as Professor Stephen F. Cohen has put it, is one of the most important political breakthroughs in the twenty-first century largely because it exposes MSM as a propaganda machine which seeks everything but the truth. Cohen wrote:

Oliver Stone’s unprecedented interviews with Vladimir Putin will be a revelation to anyone influenced by the mass media’s years of demonizing Russia’s leader. The Putin who emerges is deeply committed to Russia’s national interests, but in ways that should make him America’s essential national security partner-not, as is so often insisted, its ‘No. 1 enemy.’

“Indeed, anyone concerned by the many crises afflicting our world today should seize this opportunity to hear directly from the most consequential national leader of the early twenty-first century.”

In his final assessment of Putin, Stone said:

“If I can give you an overall opinion of Mr. Putin, he’s the ultimate negotiator; he will wear you out. He really believes in talking out everything. There are certain points of interest, every country has its national interests, and he constantly harks on this. Russia has its national interests. And he’s open to negotiating anything but those national interests, and when you cross the line, he will let you know.

“Every time I talked to Mr. Putin over those 30 hours, I never sensed any other desire on his part but to have a balance of power, respect for each other’s sovereignty, and a sense of peace in the world. And that’s what people don’t accept from him. They can’t believe that this man who they consider a villain is an emirate of peace.”[3]

Stone then dropped the atomic bomb:

“The Democrats have descended to a moral order – immoral order – in which they accuse Russia of stealing the election when there’s no evidence of it, first of all, no evidence at all. And if there was, why are we not really investigating it? Why are we not investigating the computer at the DNC (Democratic National Committee)? The FBI never even bothered to investigate it.”[4]

Bang! Party is over. Everyone can now go home. But the crux of the matter here is simply this: If Putin is rational when it comes to examining some of the political situations in our world, then the New World Order is irrational in saying that Putin is mad and bad.

No New World Order agent has actually taken the time to rationally respond to the Putin interviews. What we have heard over the past few months is that Stone is the Kremlin’s best friend, or that he is just a puppet of the Russian regime.

When Stephen F. Cohen began to say the same thing in the early years about Russia and Vladimir Putin, Cathy Young of the Daily Beast came up with an article entitled, “Meet Stephen F. Cohen, Vladimir Putin’s Best Friend in the American Media.”[5] This is the kind of “rationalism” that the New World Order is putting out there. No serious thought, nothing but complete irresponsibility and stupidity. Young wrote:

“Many of Cohen’s arguments about post-Communist Russia are legitimate subjects of debate, and his scholarship has been serious enough to draw praise from the likes of Robert Conquest, the British historian and author of The Great Terror. And yet his Putin cheerleading increasingly crosses the line into denial or outright recycling of Kremlin propaganda.”[6]

Young spends her time in the article straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel.[7] She doesn’t focus on the central issue but desperately tries to hinge on unnecessary topics. There is one question we would like Young to address.

Let us suppose we grant her the crazy idea that Russia is really dangerous. Does she mean to tell us that Russia is more dangerous than Israel? If yes, then we have a serious problem here.
