  1. A big problem in Raqqa seems to be the mines and booby traps that ISIS left behind. There doesn’t seem to be an equivalent operation by the US to that of the Russians in demining the towns that the SAA captured, Palmyra and Deir in particular. Perhaps this is because the task requires real skill and advanced equipment and whilst the SDF is not trained up to that standard the US doesn’t want to risk its boots on the ground in such a dangerous task.

    Leads to an interesting scenario, the people of Raqqa demanding that the Russians come in to clear their town.

    • The reason i suppose is that they do not care. Do US troops need to clean the territory from explosives, – i doubt.
      Skills, efforts, equipment, risk, experience. Desire. Desire to save civilian life and health and to closer the peaceful life. But if to see what was left in Raqqa after “brilliant operation” of USA and Co – it is hard to imagine how to rebuild this mess and destruction….
