Breaking: Police Recommend Israeli PM Netanyahu Indictment For Corruption, Bribery

Failed Syrian raid was supposed to shut down this investigation and save schmuck Netanyahu's tuche

The ninth Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, is facing an increasingly likely indictment after a police investigation reportedly urged the official be charged formally for alleged misconduct that includes accepting bribes and corruption.

Two investigations into Netanyahu for receiving expensive gifts illegally and working to manipulate one of the largest newspapers in Israel have resulted in a decision by Israel Police to recommend indicting the leader, according to Haaretz.

The first investigation concerned a quid pro quo with wealthy business leaders while the second concerned an attempted deal by Netanyahu to convince one of the largest Israeli newspapers to provide less critical coverage of the leader, leading to concerns about free speech.

From Russia Today:

Israeli police have recommended that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu be indicted over allegations of bribery, fraud and breach of trust.

Netanyahu, speaking in a televised statement following the announcement, said he will continue to lead Israel “responsibly and faithfully” despite the impending charges and insisted nothing will come of the “baseless” cases against him.

Police submitted their recommendations Tuesday evening following a 14-month long investigation into the “gifts affair” in which Netanyahu is alleged to have improperly accepted expensive gifts from businessmen.

The charges stem from two separate investigations, Case 1000 and Case 2000. The former involves allegations that Netanyahu, and his wife Sara, accepted gifts worth thousands of dollars from wealthy businessmen. The other, focuses on an alleged deal with Yedioth newspaper for more positive coverage in exchange for a crackdown on its rival outlet.

Netanyahu, who vehemently denies the allegations, has been questioned multiple times since the start of last year, according to Reuters. Police now believe they have found enough evidence for an indictment. Their recommendation will go to the country’s attorney general for a final decision.

The action will come as no surprise to Netanyahu as police chiefs were reportedly in “unanimous agreement” last week over whether to endorse the charges. He took to Facebook Wednesday to acknowledge the likely recommendation, but dismissed the allegations against him. He also predicted that Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit would not press charges, telling his supporters, “don’t be nervous.”

Leaked reports of the investigation indicate that Netanyahu received gifts of cigars and champagne from the Israeli-born Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan to the amount of $100,000-150,000 over a decade, reports the Times of Israel.

Police have also recommended the indictment of both Milchan, who reportedly gave Netanyahu gifts for helping him obtain a US visa, and Yediot publisher Arnon Mozes, according to the Jerusalem Post citing Israel’s Channel 2 News. Netanyahu finished his live address by reaffirming his belief that the recommendations will “end with nothing because there is nothing.”

  1. Just show them they are not above the law. This may send a clear signal around the world that nobody, equal how “elite” they are is exempted from law and justice. Best is let them jump out of an airplane at high altitude w/o parachute and show them how far they are above the law.

  2. Not what I was expecting, but something is better than nothing. I was hoping he would be busted for taking kick backs for the German U Boats. I forgot. Didn’t he give them back or cancel the order? Will he have to give back the Bitcoin? I say no because it will blow the cover story that it is untraceable. $150,000 in cigar money? That’s a lot of blunts, but not so much Rothschild Estates and Vineyard champagne. Maybe a case. He’d gladly return the vino but his old lady returned the bottles. After douching and bathing, of course.
Bottom line; an arrest will do wonders towards having me believe they’re not all bad. Again.

  3. Bibi, when all is said and done was never any more than “A poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more.’ His political career will be soon forgotten being nothing more than ‘a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.’

My only question: ‘Will AIPAC or the Israeli government pay to remove the lingering stench of sulfur still permeating the halls of Congress since that night of infamy … that night of hellish adulation that recall lines from Milton’s ‘Paradise Lost’ to describe how Congress grovelled to him and lost all respect and slandered and impugned the good name of the United States.

    “So thick the aerie crowd
Swarm’d and were straitn’d; till the Signal giv’n.
Behold a wonder! they but now who seemd
In bigness to surpass Earths Giant Sons
Now less then smallest Dwarfs, in narrow room
    Throng numberless …

The measure of Bibi’s bigness that night can only be gauged against the fawning Congressmen and women who conspired to lower themselves beneath contempt to shameful insignificance. And boy did Bibi look big.

  4. Frankly, are not these charges against Netanyahu trivial compared to his serious crimes like stealing lands, building illegal settlements to obstruct the UN and others in his clear illegal land expansion at the expense of others, the gang rape of the Palestinians in their illegal open air prison camp little different than the concentration camps of WWII the Jews so eagerly criticize, the possession of dangerous illegal nuclear weapons with no participation in the non proliferation agreement or international inspections while hypocritically criticizing others like Iran who does not even possess such weapons of mass destruction, and on and on and on… including doing 9/11/01 with the aid of Bush , Cheney and the four star generals! Is not there plenty to indict him on right now?

  5. This is just another example of why citizens must be permitted to convene grand juries. It is very unlikely this AG can view these serious charges without political prejudice. It is no different than the judicial obscenity in the U.S. where we are now 17 years from 9/11/01 with a mountain of evidence Israel did it with the aid of Bush, Cheney and the traitorous four star generals who did not lift a finger to defend the country, yet not only are all the investigations here done by private individuals while our totally corrupt Injustice Dept. sits on its hands doing nothing, No indictments, no nothing while the criminals Bush and Cheney continue to receive SS protection! The scum rises to the top and become immune from any criminal charges and evidently can murder anyone in the street while the authorities look on and wink at it all. This country is an expletive deleted shameful disgrace.
