Officials with the Indian Air Force believe that Russia’s fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jet does not correspond to required characteristics and is inferior to the American F-35 and F-22. “political decision”?? = more money to someone pocket – yes “horse trading” is still very strong in India!
India must be loaded with dollars from tourists and needs to unload before the western banks go bust. They want the most expensive military hardware and are not worried about the cost. A deal with the U S will cost them more than money but they can’t go to China for much of anything. They can always get a big discount if they make big geopolitical concessions to the West.
What you say makes complete sense.
Telling is in the word … “Therefore, Russian Indian program … can only continue after a relevant POLITICAL decision is made.” Not a technical decision made post analysis but, a political decicison. By definition politicians can’t be trusted and, give political a bad name.
