Pope St. Pius X

“… there is good reason to fear lest this great perversity may be as it were a foretaste, and perhaps the beginning of those evils which are reserved for the last days.

Pope Pius XII

“We believe that the present hour is a dread phase of the events told by Christ. It seems that darkness is about to fall on the world. Humanity is in the grip of a supreme crisis.”

  1. Well, I guess that is the outlook that says, nothing anyone does matters. ? I think in the Tao of Poo , it is the archetype of Eor. Maybe it’s Poo who says Why Bother ? Then there’s the robot assistant to Zaphod Beeblebrox and The Heart of Gold Spaceship named Marvin, “Marvin: “I have a million ideas. They all point to certain death.”
I’m just focused on a few things these days. I suppose at some level, eating breakfast is a selfish desire, but I wouldn’t say that is what drives me. I study what I study, say what I say. I don’t think happiness on it’s own is a worthwhile goal for a good life, but it helps to include it. Especially dealing with this material. But I don’t think the majority of people are suffocated.

  2. If the bears are eating the children, embracing them is not the appropriate response.
All inter-species relations are guided by who eats what. 2 herbivores get along better than an omnivore and a herbivore. In human society, promotion of war and death and punishment is violently carnivorous and some would consider it cannibalistic to pretend to eat another man and drink his blood. I am comfortable opposing that as an omnivore.

  3. The Pope leaked out, that, “There is no hell” and of course this will lead to what most cultures know, is that there is no devil either. Those are made up. The position that souls that are too weak, simply disappear is much closer to what mystics and shaman have been saying for eons. So, that comes during Holy Week.
And it is another glaring example of what I have been saying, that what is said in private, is much different than publicly held positions by unknowledgeable priests, ministers and pastors of all christian brands.
If you jam a camera in the face of a Bishop, good luck getting them to admit it is all made up. But off camera, if a person is knowledgable enough, the admissions come quite easily, and in this case the Pope admits, Hell is a racket. One of the best sales tools on earth, is threat of burning in a lake of eternal fire and damnation. It is amazing folks still are even considering something so preposterous as potentially true.

    • Here’s the link , “The interview between Scalfari and the Pope was published March 28, 2018 in La Repubblica. The relevant section on Hell was translated by the highly respected web log, Rorate Caeli. ”
      From another source
‘Italian journalist, Eugenio Scalfari, claims the Pontiff told him: “Hell doesn’t exist, the disappearance of the souls of sinners exists.”
“”The comments, reported in Italian publication La Repubblica, sparked outrage with conservatives concerned the Pope had changed Biblical doctrine.
A Vatican press officer said: “No words in quotation marks should be considered as a faithful transcription of the Holy Father’s words.”” So, words for the wise, the church lies all the time in public. Since the inception and about most things concerning texts, origins, time, and interpretation. And money of course.

    • So, this will immediately beg the question, if there is no hell, and souls may disappear , then how does a person direct their efforts during life to ensure it doesn’t ? Well, that will immediately lead to the question, do the practices of the church and christian faith help in this regard ? The answer is, yes and no. It helps certain people and hurst others. The repetitive practices work about as good for your soul, as they do for teaching high school history. Just stop any adult on the street and ask them 9th grade level history questions, and you will have your answer. The way it can hurt, is by preventing or blocking other things that may be significantly more beneficial to spiritual development. Like I say, stop giving money, and the amount of care for your soul will become apparent. The entire thing is a real estate and laundering Fraud.,

    • My position is this leaked on purpose. It’s normal, and happens all the time in many areas of government all the time. It’s a smart move and provides plausible deniability. It is also another glaring example, that things have to proceed, as certain decisions are facing the church, folks are not aware of. As for the end times, and descriptors of all that, they are absolutely normal and fitting for the time of the cross. The end of an age brings the end of a religion, and they change rather abruptly if we examine it in hundreds of years segments, and this is the end of a 2100 – 1900 year age , and not the best either. There is no day or year, because they blend and mingle as they change. Like oil colors on top of water as they go and swirl. In the pantheon of time, we are leaving one of the worst. The best and the worst of the age are highlighted at the ends. So we have a bit of debauchery, lots of spiritual deceit, mistrust of governments, wars, but also we have a huge human family that can know communicate over long distances instantaneously. That’s how we clean it up.

  4. I have no problem with pro-life, except it seems to favor anti-abortion only. Meaning police killings and war deaths and other things are not seen nearly as important as the abortion issue. I would also like to see, how many women who are life long Catholics get abortions, because my personal data says it is among the highest.
I find this is due to a high amount of shame experienced by women who get pregnant out of wedlock in the church. So, with the highest death rates among war killings and police or gun violence, it would seem the choice would be easy for the church to have a vigorous and active anti-war position, but it does not.
As for his last statement, that people have no “right” to give up, um, that is clearly against the value of free will. A very bizarre stance for any person, let alone a spiritual person.
