When their first wedding anniversary was approaching, David and Kelly decided to do something special. Since they had chosen to not do a big trip for their honeymoon celebration, they thought this would be a good time for a vacation together. Both of them wanted to go somewhere unique and romantic where they could reflect upon their first amazing year together and all the future years yet to come.

After considering many different places, Kelly suggested that they go to Rome. They both loved history and art, and they liked the idea of getting to visit a city with such rich culture. Excited to have a destination in mind, they began making plans, finding the best hotels, and picking out the top places to visit.

As they were making reservations, David brought up the idea to hire a photographer for their trip so that they could come back with professional photographs to remember the time they shared together. Kelly loved the idea, and after some research, they found a local photographer from Localgrapher in Rome who could meet them and do a photoshoot for one of the days they were traveling.

Right away upon arriving in Rome, Kelly and David felt like they had stepped into a dream. The character of the city was perfect, with a special romantic charm combined with the interesting history and artwork all around the city. They each had top sites they had picked out to visit in the city.

David was particularly interested in seeing the Colosseum, and the two spent an afternoon touring the ancient gladiator stadium and taking some photographs of their own together at this iconic landmark of Rome.

The next day was spent in the Vatican City, which was Kelly’s top pick if where to go in Rome. The religious artwork and architecture were even more stunning than either of them imagined, and even after a full day of walking around and taking tours of various museums and churches, they each felt like it could have taken a week to see all the attractions in the Vatican City. They agreed that the best site in the Vatican City was the Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo’s famous paintings.

On the third day of their vacation, Kelly and David met with the personal photographer for their photoshoot. They both liked the idea of taking some pictures by the Trevi Fountain since it was both a famous landmark and captured the historic charm of Rome. After getting some staged shots by the fountain, the photographer had some recommendations about ways to get a few more natural shots using the unique architecture and elegant evening lighting that enhanced the romantic atmosphere.

“It was amazing having a local with us for the photoshoot,” commented Kelly. “We both had ideas, but we never would have gotten the amazing photos we did if we didn’t have someone with us who had more insight about Rome and how to really photograph the city. It gave us even more ideas for other pictures we could take during the rest of our trip.”

For the rest of their time traveling together, Kelly and David were able to see more of Rome’s amazing sites like the Roman Forum. With the insight from the photographer in Rome, the couple had more opportunities to take pictures of their own of their experiences in Rome.
