American Business Leaders Demand Trump Allow Them to Mandate Masks, Refuse Service to Unmasked

America’s business leaders tell Donald Trump to issue federal mask guidelines and to be able to refuse service to people who refuse to cover up without being sued

  • The heads of America’s top business and manufacturing groups wrote a letter to President Trump asking the federal government to issue mask guidelines
  • The business bosses also asked that businesses and non-profits ‘not be held liable for refusing entry’ when customers arrive sans mask 
  • Viral videos around the country have shown store employees trying to block mask-less patrons from entering 
  • The provision would allow businesses to dodge lawsuits from these altercations and also provide guidance on when exceptions can be made 
  • Both the business leaders and Trump agree that a federal mandate goes too far, but the guidance could include when a state or local one kicks in  

The heads of America’s top business and manufacturing groups wrote a letter to President Trump Thursday asking the federal government to step in and issue guidelines on mask-wearing.

The business bosses also asked that businesses and non-profits ‘not be held liable for refusing entry or services to an individual who is not complying with face covering requirements.’

They agreed with Trump that the decision to impose face-covering requirements should be left to state and local governments, but the federal government needed to inform those decision by providing ‘clear and consistent guidance based on data.’ read more…
