Health Editor’s Note: While the number of cases of COVID-19 are increasing daily, actually by leaps and bounds, Trump and his administration still downplay the absolute seriousness of this pandemic. How horrific that they work off of the premises of: ‘Tell the public what they want to hear, during an election year, keep them happy, keep them sated, and you increase your chances of getting their votes.’ People are sickening and dying from lack of taking this pandemic seriously. COVID-19 is DEAD serious
Yesterday the U.S. passed the 3 million coronavirus case mark. The number of cases continues to leap upward as states which were formerly “opening up” have been forced to mandate mask wearing and restrictions of what will be open and what will be closed.
Newer cases tend to be in the younger age group, where earlier on in the pandemic, coronavirus cases were in the 60 and over population. This older grouping often have pre-existing medical issues that can lead to increases chances in deaths from COVID-19. This new, younger group does not have those conditions and usually survive coronavirus, but that is not always the case. These ‘younger’ people are waiting for spaces in ICUs. The number to focus on is the number of new cases, not the number of deaths. People are sickening and dying from lack of taking this pandemic seriously. You cannot die from COVID-19 if you do not contract COVID-19 …..Carol

Dr. Fauci’s comments came at an event Tuesday with Senator Doug Jones, Democrat of Alabama, as the United States surpassed three million cases on Tuesday, and some states that had hoped to be getting back to normal by now have instead been forced to reinstate restrictions and issue mandatory mask orders.
“By allowing yourself to get infected because of risky behavior, you are part of the propagation of the outbreak,” he said. “There are so many other things that are very dangerous and bad about this virus. Don’t get yourself into false complacency.”
Dr. Deborah L. Birx, the Trump administration’s coronavirus response coordinator, conceded that officials had been surprised by its recent spread, especially among young people.
“None of us really anticipated the amount of community spread that began in really our 18-to-35-year-old age group,” Dr. Birx said in a brief appearance on an Atlantic Council panel. …read more:
