China sanctions 11 American officials over US moves against Hong Kong

by Jim W. Dean, VT Editor, …with PressTV, Tehran

[ Editor’s Note:  Can we expect to see the China card played repeatedly before the US election? Will Trump and Pompeo be making lateral passes to each other to keep the background noise of US election interference by Peking and Moscow to build an emergency with a paper thin case of a rigged election?

I am looking forward to meeting the first American who gives a hoot about what someone in Russia or China would think about our election other than “Don’t elect another crazy person.” Most would consider that a rational bias, not an attempted influence.

The flip side is we have the US and Britain’s long histories of doing anything in their power to have political influence, if not complete control over any and every county that they can, and by any means possible.

Boris Johnson is dealing with a failed Brexit exit, the worst Covid death rate in Europe, and a British coalition with weakening bonds, while senile MPs dream of the old colonial days.

Back in the US, Trump has dreams of getting another four years to groom Prince Jared and Princess Ivanka for their future coronation entry into American politics as seasoned White House and foreign policy veterans.

I can see the plan now. Ivanka could rule for eight years, and then Jared would take over for eight. When Donald strokes out, they will plane crash Melania out of the picture and bring Bibi over from Israel in a prison work release program as US national security adviser. You just can’t make this stuff up… JD ]

China has slapped sanctions on eleven US officials, in retaliation for similar measures by Washington against Hong Kong’s leader and a number of other key officials over a security law that China enacted for the semi-autonomous region in late June.

  1. From what little I know about Biden’s choices, Harris may be good as any. I had thought he might go for someone really breathtakingly dramatic, although I didn’t have anyone in mind. I know it’s said people don’t vote for the vice-president, so I guess he went with the money and/or the politically corrected-ness. But what do I know?

    • I see where Obama said Biden “nailed it” with the Harrison pick. That got me thinking because Obama is very smart. And he’s right!
Harris was really Biden’s only choice. She shores him up with women, taking “that issue” off the table. And she pulls in the black vote that may not have been as enthusiastic to make the effort had he picked a “white” of any gender. Plus, she makes him look young and virile when she beams up at him.
