VT: It has been a long time coming but finally Anthony Fauci has taken down Rand Paul once and forever, proving that Paul’s so-called medical education is sorely lacking in actual science.

This is a pure bloodbath and great TV to boot.  Time to send Rand Paul to the showers.

 

AOL: Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) received a sharp education lesson on virus immunity and prevention from Dr. Anthony Fauci during a Senate hearing on Wednesday when the Kentucky physician attempted to attribute New York’s dramatic reduction in COVID-19 cases to herd immunity instead of people following safety protocols.

During a heated back and forth, Paul, who has opposed mask mandates, criticized Fauci’s past praise of New York and its Democratic governor’s handling of the pandemic.

“New York had the highest death rate in the world,” Paul said. “How can we possibly be jumping up and down and saying, oh Gov. [Andrew] Cuomo did a great job? He had the worst death rate in the world.”

Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, responded with a fact check.

“No, you misconstrued that, senator, and you’ve done that repetitively in the past,” Fauci fired back. “They got hit very badly. They made some mistakes. Right now … the things that are going on in New York to get their test positivity 1 percent or less is because they are looking at the guidelines that we have put together from the [coronavirus] task force.”

  1. Let me get this straight, Fauci and Redfield are lying when they say herd immunity won’t work and you prove them wrong by citing evidence, correctly so, that herd immunity won’t work. Yes, we have some evidence of reinfection but not peer reviewed and I have yet to see peer reviewed evidence supporting continued antibody protection, a common issue with CV/SARS infections. Thus, Fauci and Redfield are right and you are confused?

  2. Aside from his anti-war stance, I see nothing from Rand Paul. What did Paul do, that was enough to anger his neighbor so badly, that the man (knowing this was a senator) would execute a running tackle taking Paul off his lawnmower and driving him into the dirt ?
    Being in NY, it was overwhelmingly obvious, that A) we would not have been hit so hard, yet for the international airport staying open allowing cases to flow into the biggest metropolis in the US, and B) it was overwhelmingly obvious that the downward trend happened in direct correlation with everyone wearing masks, isolating, and exercising caution in stores.
    Britain was the salesman of the herd immunity and Trump and goons bought it. Something worth noting. Britain was also the last country to be banned from flying into the US.

  4. Zook. This one is totally moronic. Address the issue, please tell us that you believe in herd immunity under the circumstances proposed by light loafered Rand. Then give us some scientific references. You keep reaching and reaching and it comes out more like white anger and insecurity.

  5. “Fausty” Fauci has a very poor track record going back to the AIDS Fiasco. I don’t call this a Smack Down, just because Fauci says so.

    • Chris: Bullshit. This is a crushing defeat for Rand Paul. Fauci has done a marvelous job and half witted barbs from fake news addicts don’t carry much weight in the real world.

    • I look at it this way – Fauci and Plotkin have both committed perjury on previous issues. This is another scam by the Gates eugenics program – search the results on polio vaxx in India, then wait until you are forced to take the vaxx! Rand is a little on the light side, why I listen to the Liberty Report by Dr. Ron.
