Man With Raging COVID Infection Claims the Flu Is What You Should Really Fear

Daily Beast: President Donald Trump has just spent three days in a hospital where he was left reliant on a cocktail of experimental drugs and oxygen therapy administered by an enormous team of the military’s top medical experts.

Trump is still infected and receiving treatment at the White House—but he’s taken time out to tell us the virus is no big deal and that what you should really be worried about is the upcoming flu season.

In a tweet, Trump wrote: “Flu season is coming up! Many people every year, sometimes over 100,000, and despite the Vaccine, die from the Flu.

Are we going to close down our Country? No, we have learned to live with it, just like we are learning to live with COVID, in most populations far less lethal!!!” Of course, Trump is extremely wrong—the CDC says COVID-19 likely has a mortality rate that is 10 times or more higher than that of most strains of the flu.

  1. In an environment where paranoia and fear and chaos are combined with a lack of actual leadership and cohesive communication, Stress will be higher. If someone had the flu in that environment, it can be overcome, like the famous sports performance by Michael Jordan while stricken with the flu.
    Covid offers no such window. I can only imagine the clueless panic stricken line of people outside the room where the blustering idiot rants on about the banal and confuses all with repetitive bleets and babbles. By now, the whir of shredding machines can be heard throughout Washington. The quiet shaking of heads and the stops at the liquor store.

  3. What? COVID-19 is only 10 times the mortality rate of the flue? What the hell kind of a bioweapon that? It was supposed to totally reset the world’s economy, transfer untold trillions of dollars from the 99% to that infinitesimally small fraction of 1%, and cull the human population of “useless eaters”, the elderly, the unemployable, and especially people of color. Trump is all three of these things (74, never had a real job in his life, orange) and he brushed it off like it was nothing. As Henry Kissinger said in 2016, “Depopulation should be the highest priority of foreign policy towards the third world…” If COVID-19 isn’t performing up to these high expectations, it’s back to the lab to come up with one that will.
