Health Editor’s Note: After months of ignoring how easily COVID-19 is passed from person to person, refusing to wear masks, fighting any mandate for mask wearing, not maintaining physical distancing protocols, having and attending super spreader events and repeatedly being placed in the positive column with their being tested for COVID-19, either after displaying symptoms or being in contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus, now these same people want to jump to the head of the ‘give me the COVID-19 vaccine’ list. They think they are more important than COVID-19 pandemic front line workers and those in long-term care facilities.
Giving the first available COVID-19 vaccines, during this time when tens of thousands are daily given positive test results and when thousands are dying every day from coronavirus to anyone other than the above mentioned groups is tantamount to…well I am actually struggling for a word to write here.
If these people, who rubbed elbows with, partied with, heard and watched as this country’s ‘leaders’ continued to fiddle American lives away and did nothing, became party to those who have denigrated science and medicine and who have created the leadership vacuum, which is directly responsible for the exorbitant counts in the COVID-19 pandemic think they should be at the front of the COVID-19 vaccine, well the rest of us have other ideas on that……NO Way!
Trump has currently put ‘White House Staff get the vaccine first’ on hold but to be sure that is for saving some sort of political face and besides, did he not already have COVID-19? Trump should have a few more weeks of immunity before he can contract it again. Anyway, Trump said having COVID-19 was nothing….
White House staffers, take your chances like the rest of us will be doing. We will continue to wear masks over both nose and mouth, practice physical distancing, stay away from groups of any size, stay home if we are ill, stay away from anyone who is sick, not travel, and put holiday gatherings (unlike the collective you) on hold until after the pandemic is finished. Like any child knows, ‘you wait your turn.’ Whether you should have a turn at all is up for debate…..Carol

keaneperson, I certainly hope that we do not experience ‘lost’ shipments.’ Now is the time for utter transparency, calm, decorum, willingness to wait our turn as in the order of who is at most risk, etc. The worst would be if vaccines were ‘replaced’ with bogus vials. That seems like a lot of work to go through and would require very specialized equipment that one probably could not run in a basement, like a meth lab. After this leadership vacuum, attacks on science and medicine, craziness up to the election and post election Trumpings, one does tend to be a bit distrustful. Looking at what we have been through the past four years, yes, crap could happen, but let us hope for the good of Americans, that it does not.

Mr.Ed, COVID-19 vaccine equals anti-fertility for coronavirus/ equals coming end to pandemic, that and continued masking, physical distancing, handwashing, staying home, staying home if you are sick, staying away from anyone who is sick, avoid groups of any size, no traveling, etc. until most have been vaccinated.
