[ Editor’s Note: Georgia’s Secretary of State Raffensperger seems to have done a solid, unbiased job on the many vote recounts, despite the pressure he was put under, but now he seems to have joined the Banana Republican vote purgers.
Georgia is turning into a voter suppression reality TV show, with the Secretary of State’s office having closed early to avoid being served legal notice papers by the Greg Palast media crew. Palast’s crew soon located a satellite office for the Secretary of State, and served their papers, while videotaping the transaction.
But now the Georgia voter suppression story gets more ridiculous. Cobb County went for Biden in November and knocked off some Republican county commissioners to boot.
It appears the commishes are taking their revenge in the Senate run-off by removing early voting stations in Black neighborhoods, which is completely legal, given their administrative powers.
Even worse, there appears to be another loophole in Cobb County where a campaign is in motion to challenge Democrat voter registrations, and this simple act makes the targeted voters ineligible to vote, according to the registration database.
Facial Recognition Software?
They have even installed cameras at the reduced drop off stations, to assure that only the voter or a family member living in the household of the voter can drop the ballot in the box. In a close vote, they will have the videos to try to disqualify votes. Are they using facial recognition software, or racial recognition software?
And last, the Banana Republicans have another suppression plan in districts they control. They have closed the early voting stations on weekends, as that is when employed black voters often vote. It is traditional for churches to run shuttles for these voters on the weekends for parishioners who need assistance.
It looks like it’s ‘take no prisoners time’ in Georgia. On the flip side, Republican efforts to suppress the vote has really fired up the Democrats, as in “if they are trying so hard to block me from voting, my vote must be really valuable.” … Jim W. Dean ]

Friday Dec. 18 [Atlanta] — Representatives for Black Voters Matter were joined by a victim of Georgia’s voter purge and a group of leading voting rights attorneys to confront Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, with a demand to return wrongly purged voters to rolls — or face a new lawsuit
…The attorneys backed the demand by serving Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger with a formal notice of a new federal lawsuit should he fail to comply or stall on the Court’s opinion that the parties meet to correct the purge lists. The plaintiffs will hit Raffensperger with a new federal suit unless Raffensperger complies.Greg Palast with Martin Luther King’s cousin
“Georgia’s officials have been exposed using a horrendously inaccurate list of voters whom they claim had filled out postal change-of-address forms. The Postal Service itself says they did not. They did not move,” says Palast.
“Yet, the political hacks that run Georgia’s elections have chosen this rotten trick to stop tens of thousands of citizens from voting. It is a cold, racially poisonous game, brazenly backed by the Republican National Committee lawyers desperate to bend the upcoming Senate run-off. “
