Carol graduated from Riverside White Cross School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio and received her diploma as a registered nurse. She attended Bowling Green State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Literature. She attended the University of Toledo, College of Nursing, and received a Master’s of Nursing Science Degree as an Educator.

She has traveled extensively, is a photographer, and writes on medical issues. Carol has three children RJ, Katherine, and Stephen – one daughter-in-law; Katie – two granddaughters; Isabella Marianna and Zoe Olivia – and one grandson, Alexander Paul. She also shares her life with husband Gordon Duff, many cats, and two rescue pups.

  1. They were used to symbolize the House, because from a builders perspective, they do the unthinkable. They navigate and build a sphere (difficult on its own) from another animals waste, and they do it going backwards with their back legs.
    This engenders humility into any builders mind, and the challenge would be to see a human try that.
    Each part of this symbolically, including being found on every continent, their outer shell, and ability to fly, makes the Scarab an iconic symbol of the House. It is holistic and pervasive. The 13th day of the 20 and home to many well known architects.
