Congress-Cabinet Discussing Removal under 25th Amendment

CNN: By impeaching and removing Trump, even at this late stage of his term, the Senate could subsequently vote to disqualify Trump from ever holding federal office again. On the other hand, invoking the 25th Amendment would require Vice President Mike Pence and a majority of the Cabinet to vote to remove Trump from office due to his inability to “discharge the powers and duties of his office” — an unprecedented step.

Some Cabinet members are holding preliminary discussions about invoking the 25th Amendment, a well-placed GOP source told CNN.

Presidential Disability and Succession

Passed by Congress July 6, 1965. Ratified February 10, 1967. The 25th Amendment changed a portion of Article II, Section 1

Section 1

In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.

Section 2

Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

Section 3

Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as Acting President.

Section 4

  • Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or
  • of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office,
  • the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.
  • Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

  1. The transnational elite are from the highest levels of finance capital, corporations, government, military, academic, NGOs, spiritual leaders, plus national security connected with international drug cartels, that extract 8,000 tons of opium from US war zones annually, laundering $500 billion through transnational banks, half of which are in the United States.
Three instruments of investing their excess capital exist: risky financial speculation/wars and war preparation/privatization of public institutions. To them nation-states are population containment zones to be controlled as they are systematically looted under the guise of a democratic process. This becomes increasingly difficult to legitimize. Government fails, morphs into a militarized police state struggling to subdue a restless population. International forces, United States, NATO, United Nations, or private military, may be brought in under the pretense of peacekeeping or humanitarian missions. In countries where the elite find it difficult to operate, regime change by support of resistance movements will result- Libya, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Yugoslavia.

  2. So why didn’t they impeach and remove the psychopath when they had the chance? Where were all these hypocrites when the evil orange clown was mass-murdering people in Syria; or starving Venezuelan peasants to death; or exiting all the nuclear treaties and putting all life on earth at risk; or murdering General Soleimani (apparently in an attempt to start WW3); or dangerously provoking Russia and China?

That Trump is a psychotic psychopath completely mentally and morally unfit for the office he holds has been painfully obvious since at least April 2017, but only now are our elitist masters aware that their Trumpenstein monster is dangerous? How pathetic.

  3. I think Amendment is not applicable because cases are if the president dies and he didn’t die , if resigns and he didn’t resign, or he is removed from office and he still is on office and to remove him you need a impeachment first and that will be hard at this time without mention that will served to further inflame tensions on streets
