…from PressTV, Tehran

[ Editor’s Note: This statement has not come from anyone high up enough to get Israel’s attention. Biden continues to think he can issue platitudes, but when you have backed down a hundred times with a press statement platitude, Israel will never respond unless it has teeth in it.

That would require sanctions on Israel which the US has categorically taken of the table with its endless pledges to support the Israelis who are the terror of the region. The whole exercise is a theatrical US debasement of itself.

The current US conditions in the Iran talks show a different strategy. Iran, the harmed party, is asked to pick up the mantle of an aggressor party who left the agreement by rolling back all of the nuclear steps called for in the agreement because another party left.

Essentially, the US request is a second attempt at breaking the deal. Iran is doing what it has to do, which is the only thing that will work, and that is to continue to build its nuclear program provided for under the deal until the US sees the light or until Israel launches more attacks on the program hoping to trigger an Iran military retaliation.

It is not rocket science that Israel wants the whole process to blow up, literally. Israel will continue their crackdown on the Palestinians, maybe wanting a new war with them as a diversion, and where it can bomb Syria more for additional mayhem… Jim W. Dean ]

The United States has called on Israel to de-escalate tensions in the occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds, and warned against carrying out forced evictions of Palestinian families.

“We’re deeply concerned about the heightened tensions” in the occupied Jerusalem al-Quds, deputy State Department spokeswoman Jalina Porter said on Friday.

She said it was “critical” to “de-escalate tensions” and avoid any unilateral steps that could worsen the situation, such as “evictions, settlement activity and demolition.”

“As we head into a sensitive period in the days ahead, it will be critical for all sides to ensure calm and act responsibly to deescalate tensions and avoid violent confrontation,” Porter said.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights slammed the Tel Aviv regime for planned evacuations of Arabs in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of in the occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds, saying that “if ordered and implemented, [they] would violate Israel’s obligations under international law”.

“We call on Israel to immediately halt all forced evictions, including those in Sheikh Jarrah, and to cease any activity that would further contribute to a coercive environment and lead to a risk of forcible transfer,” Rupert Colville said on Friday.

The statements came after the acts of aggression committed by Israeli forces and settlers against Palestinians in Jerusalem al-Quds and a planned raid on al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam, scheduled for Monday.

Tensions have escalated in Sheikh Jarrah in recent days amid Israeli court rulings that order a number of Palestinian families to evacuate their homes there. Israel occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip during the Six Day War in 1967. It later had to withdraw from Gaza but placed the enclave under siege.

Israeli forces used tear gas and rubber bullets at the Palestinians taking part in a weekly anti-settlement protest in Kafr Qaddum on Friday. Scores of demonstrators suffered breathing difficulties due to inhaling tear gas.

In the village of Beit Dajan, Israeli troops attacked a similar protest. To the south of Nablus, Israeli forces fired tear gas and sound bombs at the Palestinians who attended Friday prayers on Sobeih Mountain in the town of Beita as calls were made to gather in the area to protest against the planned expansion of an Israeli settlement.

More than 600,000 Israelis live in over 230 settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem al-Quds.

After former US President Donald Trump took office in January 2017, Israel stepped up its settlement expansion in defiance of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, which pronounces settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem al-Quds “a flagrant violation under international law.”

All Israeli settlements are illegal under international law as they are built on occupied land.

The UN Security Council has condemned Israel’s settlement activities in the occupied territories in several resolutions. Palestinians want the West Bank as part of a future independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem al-Quds as its capital.

  1. The shameful behavior of the USA in the Middle East since it ILLEGALLY established the ZIONIST state of
Israel continues. Donald Moore is correct “Israel runs the US ”
At home the US is in a hopeless state of economic collapse except for the US arms industry which is successfully DESTROYING the planet one country after the other with DEPLETED URANIUM & cluster bombs death & destruction. ETC.ETC. without end year after year.
NOT A WORD about the NUCLEAR attack by Israel on Lebanon only reported by Veterans TODAY.
When is ENOUGH—- ENOUGH ? When will Americans wake up for the sake of HUMANITY ?

  2. Washington can’t dictate to their partners. Besides, the request for de-esqualtion is strictly for appearance’s sake. If the U.S. government really meant business, it would lead by example, and decamp from the middle east.

    • I’m sorry to disagree with you but the US does it all the time, with allies EU/NATO and friendly countries. Israel is alive today because of US support and aid. All they have to do is tell them they will cut off aid and sanction them they will fold. The thing is that Israel runs the US!

    • The new form of ‘decamping’ is to pull uniformed troops out and replace them with contractors who are mostly veterans, actually mercenary troops, but for some reason they don’t like that term although they never pose that it is inacurate. And then there is the not too small issue that if they are volunteer ‘fighters’, then some would view them as mercenaries from that point on. Only drafted Nam Vets will discuss this. I think Gordon got $68 a month at the time. Basically untrained young troops were cycled through Vietnam. Col David Hackworth went undercover once, rejoining as an older man to go through the training. For their big graduation task, going out in the woods for a long weekend to show their skills, the sergeant in charge had them load up on steaks and cases of beer and they just camped out and partied for the weekend. A large percentage of KIAs were from new troops that had no idea what they were doing, and those for example, who had done a lot of time on patrol, where the point man had the highest death rate, they threw the new guys up there, and they tripped mines almost like that was the goal. Hackworth got run out of the country to Australia. Life can be a bitch sometimes.
