Since this degenerated into a burger talk…I was going to add this comment but the assholes at VT wouldn’t let me so it goes on as an editorial:

Burgers are probably a better subject than ziocrud. Best bun out there is generally from a better walmart bakery….their bakery roll….probably not their plain bun…ok or their fairly good brioche.



Beef is an issue. I have a commercial range with a grill…hits 700 degrees with a 1200cfm fan…then half an hour cleaning…fugdat.

Been checking my area….Franks in Grand Haven has great plain ground beef. Cheaper but OK…good is Scott Meats in Muskegon. Scott is a cool place. Nothing from Walmart, Meijer, Costco or Sams Club ever, not even their prime or grass fed.

Small market…78/22 grass fed.

In Germany, I shop at Spangdahlem, grass fed 70/30 but I get the pasty plain American buns…which germans love.

There…I do slider equivalents….carmelizing a pound plus of small cooking onions…corn oil…teaspoon of sugar, half teaspoon of salt then pat dry with a rag or paper towel.

Yellow mustard….

optional….pickle slice….sweet…

optional…tiny amount of ketchup/catsup….heinz only.

I do regular cookouts for winery guys and restaurant workers in Bernkastel.

Iron griddle…hot as a european electric range will get it…buns laid out…fresh is important or you have to steam them…circle of mustard…cheese slice…kraft but any American cheese works…

burgers get salt and pepper….start around 5 inches in diameter…and very thin….about 30 seconds a side…

then on the bun, tiny circle of that red stuff…small tong on carmelized onions….pickle

VT: We wonder how many companies have been sneaking pig fat into nearly everything they sell in Israel?  No, we aren’t kidding.

All of this, of course, helps keep the focus on Israel, which is why they began the bombing campaign against Palestinian children that pushed Unilever to act and America’s nutso right wing to stand up against Ben and Jerry, makers of what is clearly America’s best ice cream.

More important politically, an entire carton of New York Fudge Chunk ice cream only has around the same calories as a Wendy’s double and a handful of fries and is a ton better for you.

I did a Wendy’s double a few weeks ago, grey burger-like material between fresh buns with lettuce and tomato.  Tasted like a boiled rag.

What can they be thinking? Might as well stick to Taco Bell.

As for Israel, we sort of think they can go fuck themselves.

  1. “a grill…hits 700 degrees…” I said, damn G., you can melt steel there, when you doesn’t using to cook burgers maybe you use it to forge customized AR15’s barrels… ooh! yeah, already I remember, you use Fahrenheit degrees, US are the only ones in whole world that keeps using Fahrenheit degrees, instead of Celsius as does 99,99% people in the rest of earth, even britons already they are using Celsius degrees from many time ago, UK began to teach metric system since 1974.

  2. Ice cream is normally a forbidden food; however yesterday I consumed a whole pint of Ben and Jerry’s Pistachio. I fasted today until supper. Which I normally skip. What a superb treat. New York fudge chunk…. hmmm.

I’m still a “white castle” guy, but, I grew up in Queens, sooo..And Israel really can go fuck themselves. after this(latest) scandal of them getting caught spying on every-damn-body, you’d think they’d lay low a bit and not go to war against an ice cream company..but what do I know, I’m just an actor, right?

  5. It’s hard to beat a good ol’ American hamburger, especially if it’s home-made. I like them on steamed buns.

  7. Seen a couple of interviews with the actual Ben Cohen and Jerry something. Nice guys. What I expected from mainstream white american men who consider themselves decent or good people. Not the “i’m the victim” lie by Republicans who have their jackboots on our throats. on the world’s throat.

  8. It’s worth mentioning vis~a~vis Ben and Jerry’s boycott of occupied Palestinian territory, that Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield are both most certainly Jewish.
