Maybe you’re a Pennsylvania resident who wants to know if your game tastes are in line with everybody else’s, or perhaps you’re considering a move and couldn’t bear to be surrounded by gamers who only liked Fortnite. Maybe you’re just nosey? Whatever your reasons for wanting to know which games Pennsylvanians can’t live without, we’ve got the lowdown for you. Oh, and if you’re worried about people loving Fortnite, you might want to skip the US altogether.
First up is the current leader in terms of most plays per capita: it’s Fortnite. This will come as no surprise to anyone who has even a mild interest in video gaming as this game has been top of the table for a while now. It’s endlessly playable, with cartoon cute characters who, as anyone who’s played it will know, have a slightly darker side too. If you want to join the crowd, then we can’t blame you. It’s rare for a game to blow up quite like this one has, so there must be a good reason.
During 2020 the most popular game in Pennsylvania wasn’t actually Fortnite, it was this bizarre game called Kero Blaster. Unless you’re a Pennsylvania gamer, there’s a good chance you haven’t even heard of this one! You play the part of a frog (who walks on two legs) and it is your mission to shoot and destroy your enemies. Considering the graphics are both incredibly basic and cute in a kawaii sort of way, this game is a little dark in parts. 2020 was a tough time for everyone and playing this game sure is a weird way to cope with it.
Online Casino Games
One of the most popular locations for gaming is the legal online casino in PA. Whilst some states don’t allow online casinos, Pennsylvania has for more than two years now. The change to the law has definitely been a hit with Pennsylvania residents, as casino games are now one of the most popular online games in the state. The law change came at a similar time to the sports betting changes, meaning that this kind of fun became more popular in the state than ever. The big bonus to casino games is that there are so many different types. Blackjack, poker, roulette and slots will draw in people from all different crowds, so it’s no surprise to see this selection make the list.
Spec Ops: The Line
If you’re looking for a long time favourite, then Spec Ops: The Line is the one. This game is Pennsylvania’s favourite game when you take into consideration the whole decade. Whilst Fortnite is head and shoulders above the rest in recent history, it remains to be seen whether it will stand the test of time quite like this game has.
Minecraft has been a game that has united all ages and it actually rallies hard with Fortnite in a lot of other states. This game allows users to play exactly how they’d like to and in this age of creativity it makes sense that it should be so loved. You can choose to build however you want with whatever you want, in a customisable world that’s full of opportunities (and occasionally monsters, but only if you enable them). This level of customizability is undoubtedly what stole Minecraft a top spot.
Pennsylvanians are big football fans, so it should be obvious that Madden is the most popular sports game in the state. This game is without a doubt the leading NFL game that’s available. With the ’22 version having just been released, the graphics have improved, new gameplay options have become available, and it would be no surprise to see it creep even higher up the charts.
