Treason: GOP Members of Congress Briefed About Jan 6 Coup in Advance, Fully Complicit

Raw Story: Two days before the January 6 insurrection several Republican U.S. Senators and Representatives were briefed on a 38-page coup PowerPoint memo. That document is being described as a roadmap for then-President Donald Trump to declare a national security emergency, invalidate all electronic votes, and move to have himself declared the winner of the 2020 presidential election.

It does not appear that any of the Republican lawmakers alerted the public to the in-process coup attempt. It is not known if they alerted the Dept. of Justice, FBI, or other law enforcement agency.

The Guardian revealed late Friday night that the 38-page coup PowerPoint “was presented on 4 January to a number of Republican senators and members of Congress.” Those GOP lawmakers have not been publicly named.



Then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows turned the coup memo over to the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack, claiming it had been emailed to him but not implemented.  From the Guardian:

The select committee is certain there was at least some coordination between the Trump White House and the organizers of the 6 January rally.

The fact that Meadows was in possession of a PowerPoint the day before the Capitol attack that detailed ways to stage a coup suggests he was at least aware of efforts by Trump and his allies to stop Joe Biden’s certification from taking place on 6 January.

The PowerPoint, titled “Election Fraud, Foreign Interference & Options for 6 Jan”, made several recommendations for Trump to pursue in order to retain the presidency for a second term on the basis of lies and debunked conspiracies about widespread election fraud.

Meadows turned over a version of the PowerPoint presentation that he received in an email and spanned 38 pages, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The Guardian reviewed a second, 36-page version of the PowerPoint marked for dissemination with 5 January metadata, which had some differences with what the select committee received. But the title of the PowerPoint and its recommendations remained the same, the source said.

Senators and members of Congress should first be briefed about foreign interference, the PowerPoint said, at which point Trump could declare a national emergency, declare all electronic voting invalid, and ask Congress to agree on a constitutionally acceptable remedy.

The PowerPoint also outlined three options for then vice-president Mike Pence to abuse his largely ceremonial role at the joint session of Congress on 6 January, when Biden was to be certified president, and unilaterally return Trump to the White House.

Pence could pursue one of three options, the PowerPoint said: seat Trump slates of electors over the objections of Democrats in key states, reject the Biden slates of electors, or delay the certification to allow for a “vetting” and counting of only “legal paper ballots”.  Read more..

  1. The best way to keep Loyalists during a batch of chaos, is to get them to sign up beforehand.
    It is the hallmark and theme of the cowards and monarchs of all civilizations.

  2. One only need read the words of Gen Milley to understand that Trump not only wanted to instigate a coup, but had already set the wheels in motion. Clearly the country’s top military commander was privy to better intelligence than anyone else, and his conclusions on what Trump and his lackeys were planning are set out in stark detail.
    It was only Milley and later Pence who stood in the way of a declaration of martial law and overturning of the election of Biden that prevented a coup.
    Trump and his cohorts are traitors and war criminals.
    And there’s only one sentence befitting such actions.

    • Milley cannot and will not file a report publicly, unless compelled to do so by the civilian Gov, but Pence can and should come forward. He is not in our employ at this time. He has no authority preventing him from doing so.
      It is not the place of military to do the elected officials job. It would be entirely inappropriate.
      Milley has a duty to stay back from politics, and Pence has a duty to stand forward.
      One is a coward and one is not. Any comparison is a false equivalence.

    In general, Donny Dollhands was probably only told the absolute minimum he NeededToKnow as Prez.

    They didn’t even tell him he had TP on his shoe!

    He didn’t NeedToKnow, to go up steps.

    • But Trump’s hero the traitorous brutal dictator didn’t even bother to declare a fake emergency.

      He just told SCOTUS “Let’s see you ENFORCE the law & stop me”, then committed the Deadliest US Terror Event.

  4. Due to infiltration, double and triple agents, the ultimate controllers of both parties, as have been mentioned over and over here on VT, are one and the same. The divergent ideals of each party are promoted and exploited perfectly and purposefully to divide. Though various contributors and editors may have different names and origins for this power entity the illusion of righteousness is left to the interpreter. Over 2000 years the masses have largely bowed to this power. I feel that humanity’s natural/spiritual disconnectedness and a decline in overall intelligence and aptitude is making their job easier. Smartphones, AI, and the demand for people to specialize is narrowing peoples ability to reason. Unless you are a whistleblower exposing corruption from within there will be no Treason or Sedition. We exist in the To Big To Fail era. I admire your gumption to call for executions though. Nearly half of the US would come out with pitchforks if we were to have that (warranted) public hanging

Zuckerface was tasked with creating a diversionary tool greater than television and his task was accomplished. “Here’s a pic of the leftovers I had for dinner. Anybody want the recipe?”

  6. At the very least, this proves conspiracy. We need to know the identities of the GOP senators and representatives that were briefed on this powerpoint two days before January 6. Justice Department needs to move on this, no excuses!

    • We also know Trump told the acting AG, and acting assistant AG “Just say that the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen,”. Garland is useless! There’s already enough between that and this powerpoint to arrest Trump and his cronies for conspiring to overthrow the U.S. government. Democrats are too goddamned soft!
