How to make your trips more pleasant as a veteran

Going on a trip is an exciting experience that broadens your horizons and helps you relieve stress, and this is crucial, especially if you’re a veteran.

Of course, the experience and knowledge gained during your hard times are unmeasurable, but sometimes you need to disconnect and enjoy life in all its splendor. Nature has benefits that cannot be overlooked, so it’s not surprising your therapist recommended you to travel more often.

But comfort is something you shouldn’t miss when going on vacation. That’s why we came up with some useful tips to make your trip more enjoyable:

Take essential items in your carry-on bag

Maybe it didn’t happen to you, but people lose their luggage quite often. So, if you’re traveling by plane, you should consider taking the essentials in your carry-on bags to make sure you don’t have any surprises when checking in. Of course, you can get your luggage back, but this usually takes time, and time is a luxury. Some indispensable things to take with you include medicines, a portable battery, a first aid kit, important documents, even a torch and a raincoat (you never know when you need them, especially if wandering nature is on your to-do list).

Be comfortable during the trip

Whether you have a flight or travel by car, you should always look to be comfortable. Long journeys are usually exhausting because you spend a lot of time sitting in a chair. Trips involve generally traveling in a congested place, which often causes you to adopt a not-so-comfortable position. Anyway, there’s no need to worry. You can make yourself comfortable during a long trip, and here’s how:

Wear breathable shoes

Even if it’s hard to believe, your feet can swell during a lengthy journey, and uncomfortable shoes only make the situation worse. Thus, wearing comfortable shoes, such as slippers and flip-flops, is recommended to avoid sweaty and swollen feet.

Have the right pillow

Long journeys usually come with the need for sleep, so it would be better to bring a comfortable pillow with you, preferably a Small Buckwheat Hulls Travel Pillow, which is soft, smooth, and fully adjustable to ensure a restful sleep.

Avoid tight clothing

Tight clothes can only make your travel experience worse, especially if they’re made from synthetic fabrics like polyester. So, if you want to avoid excessive sweating and skin irritation, opt for loose-fitting clothes made from breathable materials, such as cotton, linen, and even wool (depending on the season you’re traveling in).

Keep yourself entertained

If you want to keep your boredom away from your trip, it’s highly recommended to bring some distractions with you. It is essential when traveling long distances or when you’re forced to change the route and have to wait for your next flight or bus to arrive. Consider bringing along some of your favorite books or exciting magazines to ensure you’re neither bored nor idle.

With this in mind, we hope you’ll make the most of your trip and enjoy every discovery that comes along with a new journey.
