JEA: Whether you agree with Ran Paul on other issues or not, he has done well by blocking the Senate vote to send billions of dollars to Ukraine, where Neo-Nazis roam.

By Dave DeCamp

On Thursday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) blocked an effort in the Senate to hold a quick vote on the nearly $40 billion aid package for Ukraine that passed in the House on Tuesday.

“My oath of office is to the US constitution not to any foreign nation and no matter how sympathetic the cause, my oath of office is to the national security of the United States of America,” Paul said on the Senate floor before blocking the vote. “We cannot save Ukraine by dooming the US economy.”

Paul blocked the vote because he wanted to include text in the bill that would create a special inspector general for oversight of the billions being sent to Ukraine. He initially offered to include the oversight as an amendment, which would have been voted on separately, but he ultimately wanted to change the legislation.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) were hoping to get the legislation passed on Thursday night, demonstrating the bipartisan support for spending massive amounts of money to fund Ukraine’s war. Paul’s objection will set the vote back at least one week.

“The vast majority of senators on both sides of the aisle want it. There’s now only one thing holding us back the junior senator from Kentucky is preventing swift passage of Ukraine aid because he wants to add at the last minute his own changes directly into the bill,” Schumer said.

In the House, the $39.8 billion aid package passed in a vote of 368-57, with only Republicans voting against the legislation. The vote came as Americans are facing soaring gas prices, and over 8% inflation rates, a 40-year high. “Americans are feeling the pain [from inflation] and Congress seems intent only on adding to that pain by shoveling more money out the door as fast as they can,” Paul said.

  1. As soon as this USA constitution give away is approved by W.H.O. in less than 2 weeks, the main stream media will probably be reporting a new terrible W.H.O. disease ever week, with new enforced restrictions.

  2. I have not always agreed with Rand Paul, but I back him on this. It’s insanity to send $40 B to Ukraine when the American people have so many needs. Aside from the fact that little of the “aid” we send to Ukraine actually gets to the people, and the fact that we cannot help Ukraine enough to enable them to repel the Russians, and the fact that the U.S. Congress doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the Ukrainian people, but wants to protect their money laundry, but Putin is the Good Guy in this conflict. The bio-labs need to all be destroyed, Zelensky needs to be removed, and the neo-Nazis need to be eradicated. Then, there is the small matter of getting involved in a nuclear war that we might not survive. So, forget Ukraine. Spend the $40 B to help Americans.

  3. Rand is spitting in the wind. If he had used some better judgment through the years, he might have a shot at thr GOP nomination. Or a mysterious death with Covid-related symptoms. Are there any lower political vermin than Pelosi, Schumer and McConnell.

    • Bachmann lol. With non other than the thug Bannon. Bachmann in case you’d like to know sit at the board of many hospital management companies all based in Minneapolis and she would love to keep raping US people with expensive unaffordable “healthcare”. If anyone is unqualified to talk about healthcare it’s the filthy Republicans who love their for profit healthcare with no regulatory body watching over it at all.
I suppose you’re all for that.
      Bachmann is delusional.

  4. When are we going to get it through our heads that the same evil cabal that gave us 9/11 and all the wars of this century is pushing us into a catastrophic war with Russia, one that will be the end of the USA as we know it. Both major parties are in on it. Both major parties are beholden to the same Zionist death cult that craves destruction and chaos all around the planet. At this point there is simply no way out of it. We’re $30 trillion in debt and the dollar is soon to be dethroned as the world’s reserve currency. No way are we ever going to go back to being a normal nation that works for a living and pays its bills. WWIII, here we come, folks.

    • When US dollar crashes and is worth one millionth what it is now (compared to what? Gold? Oil? The Ruble or Yen?) then that is when the USA will begin ti pay back the Trillions X 30 borrowed (from who?)
And that will be the trigger for WW3 or WW4 the way it is going.
Those who lent the USA money (whoever they are, I will guess the entire world for its own “security” like the mafia telling a restaurant owner in its territory to pay up every month for “protection” – or the restaurant just might get burnt down)
And the “lenders: will not accept the idea of paying off a debt with worthless currency, they w\ill not be tricked so easily.
Instead they will seize the resources of the USA and by force too. (WW4)
The USA just literally stole 300 billion from Russian deposits in banks, as a way to “lessen its debt” What percentage of 300 billion is 30 trillion? 1 trillion is 1000 billion, so 30 trillion is 30,000 billion.
So seizing 29,700 billion in “seizures” from Russia, China, Iran, India, Brazil, Pakistan, Mexico, Japan, left to go….might as well include the EU countries as well.
      Ridiculous.
What is holding up USA from complete collapse?
      Threat of nuclear war?
      McDonalds and Microsoft?

    • The US house of cards is teetering precariously. Will we be dumpster diving or just fighting endless wars with our international debt collectors? The Trump plan was to just tell everyone to screw off. Hey, if it worked in the casino business….
