Regulation of USA online casino sites is done at two levels: the federal level, and the state level. At the federal level means that the United States government issues the rulings, and those rulings then affect the entire country.

The state level only applies to individual states, for example, if the state of California rules that online casino sites should be made illegal, that ruling will apply only to the state of California. However, if the federal government of the United States of America decides that online casino sites should be legal, albeit regulated, then online casinos will be legal all across the country.

Where in the US are online casinos legal?

The United States is comprised of fifty states, and online gambling is legal in 48 of them. This means that most Americans can access some of the most popular US casino sites,  without fear or repercussion. America is the country where online gambling is the most popular, making up 70% of worldwide online casino attendance. The states where online gambling is the most popular in the United States, include New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Delaware.

The most popular online casino games in America are invariably poker, blackjack, bingo, and sports betting. In fact, over half of all sports betting in America is done online, either through online betting sites, or online casinos.

Where in the US are online casinos illegal?

The United States federal government has not made any rulings on online casinos, and online gambling is widely popular all across the United States. In fact, out of the 50 states, there are only two that have completely banned online gambling. In 2012, the state of Utah banned any form of online gambling and even included the stipulation that should online gambling be made legal on the federal level, the state of Utah will keep online gambling illegal on the state level. The other state which has banned online gambling in Hawaii.

Conclusion

To conclude, online casinos are legal in most of the United States of America, and a lot of Americans prefer online gambling and sports betting to land-based betting shops and casinos. Out of the fifty states which make up the United States of America, forty-eight have legalized online gambling, and only two have made it illegal, and this doesn’t seem like it will change in the near future.
