by Richard Shultz

When Joint Special Operations Command deployed Task Force 714 to Iraq in 2003, it faced an adversary unlike any it had previously encountered: al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI). AQI’s organization into multiple, independent networks and its application of Information Age technologies allowed it to wage war across a vast landscape. To meet this unique threat, TF 714 developed the intelligence capacity to operate inside those networks, and in the words of commander Gen. Stanley McChrystal, USA (Ret.) “claw the guts out of AQI.”

In Transforming US Intelligence for Irregular War, Richard H. Shultz Jr. provides a broad discussion of the role of intelligence in combatting nonstate militants and revisits this moment of innovation during the Iraq War, showing how the defense and intelligence communities can adapt to new and evolving foes. Shultz tells the story of how TF 714 partnered with US intelligence agencies to dismantle AQI’s secret networks by eliminating many of its key leaders. He also reveals how TF 714 altered its methods and practices of intelligence collection, intelligence analysis, and covert paramilitary operations to suppress AQI’s growing insurgency and, ultimately, destroy its networked infrastructure.

TF 714 remains an exemplar of successful organizational learning and adaptation in the midst of modern warfare. By examining its innovations, Shultz makes a compelling case for intelligence leading the way in future campaigns against non-state armed groups.

In an interview on your program Richard Shultz can discuss:

* The innovations that Task Force 714 has made to constantly adapt to changing warfare conditions
* What role do AI, and Project Maven play in modern warfare today
* How these new adaptations allowed Task Force 714 to develop a military intelligence capacity that outshined AL-Qaeda’s and is taking over their terror network in Iraq
* The role of Intelligence gathering and analysis in modern warfare with independent militant forces
* How intelligence communities are altering their methods and practices of intelligence collection and analysis to suppress terror networks and insurgents
* and much more!

  1. Pepole always ask me when I tell them my opinion on that event, “Yeah maybe, but where is the smoking gun? I always say how many smoking guns do you want..?? How about the FAA “Quality Control” inspector who seized the tape that air traffic Controllers are required to make reght after an accident occurs to the planes they were directing when loss of life happened. This quality control guy took the tape reel and crushed it in his hand, cut the tape off the reel with scissors, cut the tape up into small pieces and distributed them into various different weste containers around the facility in the Ronconkoma control center in upstate New York. We have never learned this man’s name who destroyed fresh evidence in the biggest terrorist event in Amrrican history. & we never heard of him being questioned, arrested or prosecuted.

    • My first realization that something was fishy with the “official” narrative of 9/11 was when pictures of Osama bin Laden and the 19 supposed hijackers were plastered all over the New York Times within hours of the attacks, way before any actual evidence-based investigation could possibly have been done.

  2. Here’s the litmus test for Mr. Shultz: Who were the real perps of 9/11? If his answer is Osama bin Laden and 19 Arabs wielding boxcutters there is no point in reading any of his books. That “official” narrative has been used as the pretext for all the US wars of this century. US “intelligence” was and is dominated by Mossad. It stood down on 9/11 just like our military did. al-Qaeda has has always been al-CIAda. Israel nuked us on 9/11 and got away with it. Nuff said.

  3. Al Queda in Iraq was transformed and simply re-located to Libya in 2011.

“Disquised” as “Libyan rebels fighting for “freedom” against mad-dog Ghaddafi.

So the once headchopper enemy of USA, NATO and the rich Arab countries became a vital ally and asset to massacre the Libyan civilian population, their military, and their government.

200,000 of these fuckers were shipped into Libya, to brutalize, terrorize massacre and steal, at the behest of
USA, NATO, and those rich arab countres.

Look up James and JoAnn Moriartys testimony anytime about what really happened in Libya.
They were there during it all, lucky to get out alive. Very eye opening:

TH 714 did nothing but pay with very big pockets the same AlQueda fighters in Iraq (and many other countries) to invade and terrorize Libya, instead of Iraq.
