“In the summer of 1998, Martin Schmidt headed Alec Station, the CIA unit that looked after bin Laden. Alec Station was a creature of Schmidt, his domain. He and his team have spent a lifetime chasing Al Qaeda. The operation was to be conducted with the collaboration of the FBI but it was not. The Bureau had two agents assigned to Alec Station: they had to be made aware of any information in order to report to our FBI boss, John O’Neil. That summer, Alec Station got hold of a hard drive from an Al Qaeda cell in Eastern Europe. Schmidt refused to share the information. On that hard disk were the lists of Al Qaeda operatives and over fifty potential targets. ”
In one of the first scenes of the documentary-movie The Looming Tower, based on the essay by Lawrence Wright, winner of the Pulitzer Prize, emerge the enormous responsibility of the Central Intelligence Agency, the US counter-intelligence, in the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center. When, in 2001, the Twin Towers were hit by two airliners hijacked by Islamic terrorists in a conspiracy of international “Deep State” governments today quite clear only to counter-information journalists and, therefore, not certified by any government institution. Just like the attempt on the UN secretary Dag Hammarskjold.
In the first episode of the movie, it appears that those words were spoken in 2004 by Ali Soufan, an FBI agent, before the 9/11 Commission of Joint Inquiry. They are faithful to the actual reconstruction of the facts in everything except the name of the head of Alec Station (also called Bin Laden Issue Station) for which the writers used the fictional name Martin Schmidt instead of the real Michael Scheuer.
From that testimony, it emerges that the CIA allegedly withheld information that could have prevented the 9/11 attacks. It was made by Soufan because Federal Bureau of Investigations anti-terrorism veteran John O’Neil (who helped arrest the perpetrator of the first WTC bombing in 1993) was already dead, right in the collapse of the South Tower in Manhattan, after vicissitudes so strange as to make him appear as the victim of a small conspiracy to allow the “bigger” one to go on stage. Today we want to remember him by reconstructing the avoidable massacre also through his history.
The importance of the figure of O’Neil, a Catholic man of distant Irish origins with a married life compromised by many flirtations and disliked by the powerful for his frankness of expression, was also explained by Gordon Duff, Vietnam veteran and former agent. of the CIA, but above all, for over ten years, Senior Editor of VT, which was the first to demonstrate the validity of the hypothesis of a controlled demolition of the towers with the use of small nuclear devices previously placed in the basement floors.
«Let’s be perfectly clear, were one to watch today’s news and not suspect that the US created and has run al Qaeda since the onset, one might be operating with something less than a full deck of cards» wrote the Senior Editor of VT as early as October 5, 2016 in his memorable investigation “The Secret History of 9/11”.
«What changes things now is that, with the override of Obama’s veto by congress last week, Saudi Arabia can be sued for complicity in 9/11. There is and has been evidence of Saudi Arabian involvement, even in the limited false narrative published in the 2005 9/11 report or the supposed missing “28 pages.”
«Real reports also show Mohammed Atta, the former Egyptian security officer, then with Saudi intelligence, to have been an operational planner operating from his rented apartment in Fort Lee. Where the cover-up hits home is that Atta was under surveillance by a team tasked with investigating nuclear terrorism against the US» added further Duff.
«This team, originally headed by FBI special agent John O’Neill and later by FBI special agent Mike Dick, which was to include nuclear weapons specialist Jeff Smith, was centered in Fort Lee, New Jersey, not just to watch Atta but to watch Atta and his accomplices, which included Israeli teams who used a safehouse only blocks away».
«This is the subject of the real investigation and the records of this, seized by the Department of Homeland Security, and held for release after 50 years, tell a wider story, one that involves Israel deeply at every turn, along with traitors in the Pentagon. What we can do now is open doors for legal counsel going after Saudi Arabia» . Duff comments at the beginning of his article in which he reveals an exclusive document.
«Here is what is now added to the narrative, not the official narrative, but the one based on the 2003 investigation. The following information is from the US Department of Energy Preliminary Report on the Events of September 11, 2001: The buildings destroyed at the World Trade Center were demolished using nuclear devices brought into the US through Teterboro Airport, according to the DOE report. Investigator’s statements say that “there were no customs-only passport forms to be filled out by the flight crews. There was never any physical inspection of baggage or aircraft”».
JIHADISTS AND AL QAEDA ARMED BY THE CIA
Let’s leave aside for a moment the dynamics of the collapse of the World Trade Center – and of the famous Building 7 which was not hit by any aircraft and which we have already spoken extensively in a previous reportage – and also those on the role of Saudi Arabia, already the subject of our investigation that correlates the brutal murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi with 9/11. Instead, let’s calmly analyze Duff’s sentence on the collaboration between the US and Al Qaeda, considered a creation of Saudi Arabia where Osama Bin Laden lived in one of the very rich families very close to the Royal House.
As we highlighted in a previous investigation into Afghanistan, US aid to the Jihadists began a few months before the invasion of the Russian army in December 1979, so much so as to legitimize a doubt. Was it the CIA counterintelligence that armed Islamic guerrillas to defend themselves from the expected Soviet coup or was it the Russians who intervened to prevent the jihadists from becoming too powerful? As indeed happened with the rise of the brutal Taliban regime, the “students of the Koran” led by Mullah Omar who today returned to power thanks to the withdrawal of US troops and dialogue with the CIA …
To fully understand the explosive intrigue between Al Qaeda, Saudis and CIA from which the period of anti-American terrorism matured, preparatory to the wars of the Arab Springs that allowed the Pentagon (US Department of Defense) to militarily conquer oil-rich areas from buy at bargain prices (Iraq) or to steal (Syria) you must have read the book Caliphate of Europe written by an Italian super-policeman still on duty in the unassailable version of a historical novel, where characters, facts and real contexts are narrated without the pretense of a historiographical essay.
It was written by Deputy Chief Antonio Evangelista, former commander of the State Police in the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Bosnia and now attached to Interpol in the Middle East. In it, it clearly emerges that Muslim Bosnia was created by Saudi-funded Al Qaeda jihadists and the Central Intelligence Agency to balance the power of Russia’s influence in mighty Serbia and across the Balkans.
Not only. As revealed by Gospa News, the civil war in Syria was planned by the CIA since 1983 to implement regime-change when the father of the current president Bashar Al Assad was still ruling and was concretized by the Obama-Biden administration. Before his advent, President George W. Bush had allowed the release from Camp Bucca of Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, destined to become the caliph of the Islamic State, but then Obama sent the deadly TOW anti-tank missiles (through the MOM station of the CIA in Turkey) to Sunni jihadist groups allies of the Al Nusra Front, the Syrian terrorist organization affiliated with Al Qaeda.
Why be surprised, therefore, if the Alec Station of Langley’s counterintelligence (CIA headquarters in Virginia) in 1998 decided to hide from the FBI the hard disk with the lists of Al Qaeda agents which in the meantime had obviously proliferated as an army of ratti thanks to the previous protections of the same American agency of 007 in Afghanistan and Bosnia, with the sole purpose of continuing the Cold War against Russia even after Perestroika and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Leading the hunt for Osama Bin Laden was Michael Scheuer, who recently returned to the spotlight for having made explicit attacks on the Black Lives Matters, the Antifa, and the democrats he called “American jihadists” as highlighted in an article by Italian newspaper Repubblica in which his “feeling” with OBL is remembered.
«Former colleagues recall how he had shown, since the 1990s, two disturbing aspects: he argued furiously with the Intelligence during briefings at the White House led by Bill Clinton and appeared insensitive to the death of civilians in counter-terrorism missions. But, above all, he admired Bin Laden »reads the Italian newspaper.
«”He is one who acts by following the heart and the mind, “he once wrote, comparing him to Southern General Robert Lee. Respected esteem. In 2007, Bin Laden quoted the former 007 in a statement: “if you want to understand why the West is losing the war with terrorists, read Michael Scheuer’s book”. Bin Laden referred to Imperial Hubris, published in 2004, and translated into Italy by Tropea with the title The arrogance of the empire, in which the former 007 argued that America had only two paths: bombing the areas of Al Qaeda like Dresden in World War II, or leave the Middle East. Four years later, Bin Laden was killed in a Navy Seal blitz, while Scheuer no longer teaches».
Obviously not everyone is convinced of the killing without a corpse of the head of Al Qaeda as they are not convinced of the elimination of Al Baghdadi, denied in detail by Russia.
JOHN O’NEIL, THE SPECIAL COUNTER-TERRORISM AGENT
Having explained the context in which the CIA and the FBI counter-terrorism were operating, we return to celebrate the memory of those who found themselves in the midst of both. So much so that by an imponderable and paradoxical very suspicious coincidence the World Trade Center became his tomb. Where he brought with him all the secrets of that difficult collaboration with Langley’s 007s who, according to The Looming Tower, called the two agents of the Bureau attached to Alec Station “retarded twins”.
«John O’Neill was a leading figure in the FBI’s fight against terrorism at home and abroad in the years leading up to 9/11. He repeatedly sounded the alarm about the rising threat posed by organizations like al-Qaeda—and his life would ultimately be cut short in that group’s plot to attack the World Trade Center. Born in Atlantic City in 1952, O’Neill would go on to fulfill a childhood dream of becoming an FBI agent, ultimately working at the agency for 31 years. He started as a fingerprint clerk and a tour guide in Washington, D.C., before becoming a special agent in the summer of 1976».
This is how he is described by the Memorial 9/11 site where his photo with the Bureau badge is displayed, his official FBI blue shirt, found in the trunk of his car in the parking lots near the WTC, and the plate in his memory exposed in the Memorial to the Victims of the Attack. Over the next 15 years, he worked in such FBI areas as white-collar crime and foreign counterintelligence, eventually rising in the ranks to become a major player in the agency’s counterterrorism operations in the 1990s.
In 1995 he was appointed chief of the FBI’s counterterrorism division in Washington, D.C., and in 1997 he became special agent in charge of the FBI’s national security division in New York. During his time in these roles, O’Neill investigated such cases the 1996 bombing of the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia, the 1998 bombings of American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, and the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen.
O’Neill hoped to be involved in the investigation because he had gained a tremendous knowledge of Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda terrorist network. He persuaded FBI Director Freeh to let his office handle the case, and prosecutor Mary Jo White later said, “John O’Neill, in the investigation of the bombings of our embassies in East Africa, created the template for successful investigations of international terrorism around the world.
«But it was O’Neill’s first terrorism case at the FBI—the February 26, 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center—that would influence his work for years to come. On the same day he started work at the FBI’s counterterrorism division, he got word that Ramzi Yousef, the leader behind the bombing plot, had been located in Pakistan. O’Neill was essential in coordinating Yousef’s arrest in the coming days. O’Neill quickly developed a deep interest in transnational terrorist groups like al-Qaeda. It was during this time that he sounded the alarm about the growing threat of terrorism» Memorial website adds quoting his historical sentence.
“A lot of these groups now have the capability and the support infrastructure in the United States to attack us here if they choose to do so,” O’Neill was quoted as saying in a May 1997 Associated Press story.
A month later he told an audience at the National Strategy Forum in Chicago: “I think interesting times lie ahead. Certainly, we as citizens will be challenged. I know the FBI will continue to be challenged in the years to come. Unfortunately, I cannot predict that no Americans will be injured or killed as a result of a terrorist attack.”
«Through his self-education, O’Neill would become the FBI’s top terrorism expert and its authority on Osama bin Laden. His warnings about the terrorist threat to the U.S. homeland often fell on deaf ears».
But he found himself being marginalized during the meetings of the National Security Committee at the White House mainly due to the excessive caution of Condoleeza Rice, National Security advisor to President George W. Bush, who just a month before the attacks did not want to listen to the alarms. by O’Neill, to which strange episodes began that favored not only his exit from the FBI but also his entry into the future hell of the WTC, as if really behind every little circumstance there was the precise direction of a hand that not only he wanted to remove him from any possibility of averting the attack on the Twin Towers but also bury him with what he knew …
THE FATAL CLASH BETWEEN CIA AND FBI
In 1999, O’Neill sent a close associate named Mark Rossini to work in the CIA’s Bin Laden Issue Station in Virginia. O’Neill had a conflict with CIA station chief Michael Scheuer: O’Neill wanted Rossini to stay at the station and feed him information about what the CIA was doing, while Rich Blee, who had been appointed by CIA chief George Tenet to head of the Bin Laden Issue Station, wanted Rossini out working in the field.
«Later, when the Bin Laden Issue Station learned that bin Laden’s associates Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar were headed to the US with visas, Rossini and his colleague Doug Miller attempted to alert O’Neill, but Blee blocked the message. Mihdhar and Hazmi became two of the hijackers of American Airlines Flight 77 on 9/11». recalls Wikipedia in O’Neill’s profile mentioning multiple sources.
In March 2000, it was learned that al-Hazmi had flown to Los Angeles. The men were not registered with the State Department’s TIPOFF list, nor was the FBI told. There are also allegations that the CIA surveilled Mohamed Atta in Germany from the time he returned there in January/February 2000, until he left for the US in June 2000.
«According to Richard A. Clarke, National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Counter-terrorism (counter-terrorism chief) 1998-2003, the decision to withhold from the FBI and from the White House the information that Khalid al-Mihdhar and Nawaf Al Hazmi, two Saudi Arabian nationals known at the time of their entry in 2000 into the United States to be associated with al-Qaeda, were living under their own names in Southern California, was made at the highest level of the CIA» wrote Wikipedia on the Osama Bin Lade Issue Station (Alec Station) item.
«According to Clarke, Director of CIA George Tenet called him at the White House several times a day and met with him in person every other day to discuss “in microscopic detail” intelligence about Al-Qaeda, yet Tenet never shared this important information about the entry into the U.S. and American whereabouts of these two Al-Qaeda operatives, who on 9/11 went on to participate in the hijacking of American Airlines Flight 77. Clarke reasoned that the only reason for the decision to fail to share this information may have been that the CIA was running the two Saudis in some secret CIA operation».
Hence the suspicions of a maxi conspiracy are also supported by official sources. Clarke argued that if the CIA shared this information about the presence of the two Al Qaeda agents, the law enforcement might have caught them a week before the attack. This view is shared by Jack Cloonan, former manager at the FBI’s unit for tracking al-Qaida (Squad I-49) and several FBI agents.
But Langley’s 007s were more focused on chasing Bin Laden with “Afghan Eyes”, the Predator reconnaissance drone program to locate him in Afghanistan. So they looked out to the Middle East as the WTC was about to be attacked …
Directors Ray Nowosielski and John Duffy conducted an interview in which former counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke and his accusations against CIA officials – George Tenet, Cofer Black and Richard Blee – accusing them of knowingly withholding information from the White House. , the FBI, immigration and the Departments of State and Defense. Obviously the three suspects signed a joint statement in which they denied any wrongdoing and with a few lines obtained impunity.
THE STINK OF A PLOT AGAINST O’NEILL
But precisely in moments of greatest tension due to the alarm about the attacks by Al Qaeda and the friction between the CIA and the FBI, a double misfortune happened to John O’Neill that alienated him from all investigations.
In early 2001, Richard A. Clarke, the National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Counter-terrorism wanted to move to another position; he insisted O’Neill was the best person to replace him. O’Neill proved reluctant, not least because of the relatively low salary. When O’Neill heard of upcoming leaks to The New York Times about the May 2000 incident in which his briefcase had been stolen, he decided to retire from the bureau and take a higher-paying job in the private sector, as chief of security at the World Trade Center.
An August 19, 2001, The New York Times report by James Risen and David Johnston suggested that O’Neill had been the subject of an “internal investigation” at the FBI because O’Neill was responsible for losing a briefcase with “highly classified information” in it, including among other things “a description of every counterespionage and counterterrorism program in New York.” The briefcase was recovered shortly after its disappearance. The FBI investigation was reported to have concluded that the briefcase had been snatched by local thieves involved in a series of hotel burglaries and that none of the documents inside had been removed or even touched.
Several people came to O’Neill’s defense, suggesting that he was the subject of a “smear campaign”. As the script by Lawrence Wright (and others) clearly shows in The Looming Tower, the episode of the theft of the briefcase took place in a hotel where a convention was held for FBI agents close to retirement, which O’Neill himself attended only because he was forced by superiors.
But what in hindsight seems truly paradoxical concerns the offer of a job to the federal agent right inside the Twin Towers which obviously the occult American facilitators of the plot knew were destined for demolition. (read more)
