The morning was April 15, 2019.  VT was there in Los Angeles, where we have been fighting the VA for a decade, trying to force the reopening of the Veterans National Home.

We have suffered assaults, illegal arrests, two of our own have died on the picket line.

Ralph Tillman, who “rented” the space to corporations went to jail in a bribery scheme…for about a day, millions stolen and now, the police are rounding up vets, arresting them for being homeless disabled veterans and doing so with considerable thoughtlessness and brutality.

  1. The grass farming is expensive. And it bears no edible fruit. Just for show.

That water probably costs more than rehabbing a few buildings to give the guys a place to sleep.

  2. Finestein has had her eye on the W. LA VA property for a long time. I know they have reduced the number of beds by 200 that were dedicated to vets with dual diagnosis, such as alcohol/PTSD. Many homeless vets were able to take advantage of the program and return to family and jobs. I was told the building was condemned. It didn’t seem right to me.

  3. How fitting with the “star of David” on the back of that sheriff’s vehicle in the top photo, only in this case, the homeless vets are the Palestinians.

  4. Do you remember Tip O’Neil?

Said Reagan asleep at the switch!

Said all politics is local as please pay attention as our media lies we must organize locally on issues that matter to our community as mistreatment of the elderly and disabled is a huge issue!

    Veterans issue only?

    Me thinks not!

    Big picture?
